Marketing and Communications Intern

The Talley Management Group, Inc.’s spring internship program provides you with insight to your career and its advancement. Work directly with the TMG team and get hands-on experience in media relations, strategic planning, content development, new business development and social media management.

TMG’s Marcom team seeks an enthusiastic, professional and forward-thinking student to join its Marcomm (marketing and communications) team from January 14 to April 26. You will work directly to support TMG and its client-partners in marketing and communications efforts.

You will also assist in curating and maintaining the Group’s presence and brand voice on social and digital media as well as improve TMG’s overall SEO performance. You will help plan and track social media and blog content and analyze engagement metrics to proactively identify ways to enhance the TMG’s digital presence, including content creation and promotion.

Position Benefits and Experience Opportunities

  • Gain experience in managing multiple deadlines for numerous clients

  • Learn the process of working with the media to gain exposure for TMG/its clients

  • Work with the various departments and client teams within TMG

  • Build portfolio by writing and developing various content pieces for TMG and its client-partners including blog posts, media releases and case studies

  • Gain exposure to event/conference/meeting planning, promotion and execution

  • Help develop strategy for TMG’s and client partner social media accounts, including developing social media messaging calendars

  • Conduct research as needed for TMG or client partners

  • Learn how to curate and analyze social media content for TMG/client partners/global brands across multiple platforms

  • Assist with creating a comprehensive summary monthly, reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and/or the respective client-partner on results of overall marcomm efforts

  • Contribute ideas to TMG brainstorming sessions to improve client offerings and internal marketing/communications

  • Have an active role in the New Business Development and Strategy process for TMG

  • Better understand the AMC model and industry as well as the overall nonprofit structure

  • Actively participate in marketing campaigns on various levels (ex. Recruitment and retention, social media, etc.)

Position Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, or related field

  • Solid understanding of basic marketing and communications practices/techniques

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, managing several projects at a time

  • Excellent understanding of proper grammar and AP style

  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Interest in social media management and digital analytics tracking, including knowledge of popular social media outlet platforms

  • Flexibility to help team members and TMG client-partners with other projects as needed

Weekly schedule will accommodate school schedules. Applicants should have availability for 15 in-office hours per week over the negotiated time period.

This internship provides a $2,300 stipend, distributed throughout the course of your tenure. TMG will also accommodate students in-need of course credit.
