Director of Operations (Manufacturing)

We are seeking a Director Of Operations to become an integral part of our team! You will coordinate and oversee the organization's daily operations.


  • Create a strong accountability, performance-based culture.
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding targets as they relate to profitability, quality, productivity, material waste, on-time delivery and safety.
  • Evaluates and monitors the Quality Management System to ensure it conforms to ISO 9000 requirements to include all documented statements of the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives, the quality manual, documented procedures, policies and work instructions.
  • Responsible for Plant throughput as it relates to on-time delivery to customers’ request dates.
  • Responsible for the budgeting process to include direct/indirect manning, expense budgets and capital budgets as well as measuring and controlling variances against the set budgets.
  • Responsible for planning and overseeing the execution of various Lean/Six Sigma transformation events targeted towards improving Filtration Group’s performance on safety, quality, cost and delivery.
  • Focus on business performance improvements that yield zero accidents, defect free products, on demand and on time delivery at the lowest cost.
  • Focus on business performance that constantly strives to eliminate waste, improve customer satisfaction, and increase market share via the use of Lean/Six Sigma tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Spearhead formal productivity initiatives that drive year over year cost improvement.
  • Develop and execute strategic plan to maximize service to customers, flexibility of capacity, and reduction of consolidated cost of goods sold.
  • Responsible for the materials management function to support the operations with customer service, planning, scheduling, inventory, logistics and procurement.
  • Ensures products are manufactured according to specifications, quality standards are met, and delivered on-time to customers.
  • Provides direction, development and leadership to managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Responsible for employee development, satisfaction, employee retention and culture.
  • Responsible to develop and enforce health and safety procedures, work rules, and company housekeeping standards. Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with OSHA Standards.
  • Responsible to set, monitor, and enforce quality control tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements in methods and processes to increase productivity
  • and quality.
  • Develop plans for the maximum utilization of materials, equipment, and employees.
  • Expedite and alter schedules as needed to overcome delays, bottlenecks and unforeseen conditions in
  • order to meet customer expectations.
  • Create and execute lean manufacturing strategies to increase manufacturing flexibility, decrease costs, and increase inventory turns and productivity.
  • Responsible to determine and implement improvements to production processes, while aggressively initiating and tracking cost reduction projects.
  • Set and manage production budgets.
  • Provide strong leadership and communication skills to lead employees.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to maximize business results and customer satisfaction


  • Bachelor’s Degree with focus on Operations Management or related field; Engineering degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience with a world class global manufacturing organization.
  • Minimum of three (3) years as a Plant Manager with full P&L responsibility.
  • Successful track record of developing manufacturing plans in a “lean” culture.
  • Must be able to work closely with Sales, Marketing, R&D and SBUs to support the overall growth objectives of the Corporation.
  • Strong business acumen with both strategic skills and the ability to execute effectively. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background, but with a distinct manufacturing orientation.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to direct and motivate team and others at all levels of the organization, maintaining a persuasive and credible presentation style.
