Production Planner

The position plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of products. Responsible for contributing to the efficient and profitable operation of the plant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Draw up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of production in association with Production/Inventory Control Manager and supervisors from both shifts.
• Must strive to meet shipping dates requested by customer service at time of work order entry.
• Must update work order status within 24 hours (business days) of the order being received or released from hold.
• Work with Quality Control to verify formulas and batch sizes for production.
• Provide production schedules for Production and Quality Control.
• Confer daily with both production supervisors to determine status of assigned production.
• Prepare purchase requisitions to obtain raw materials.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for packaging material as needed and maintain packaging inventory.
• Provide Shipping/Receiving department with pull sheet of needed raw materials for next day production.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must have regular, punctual attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be familiar with production and inventory procedures.
• Good at mathematical calculations.
• Good English communication skills.
• Must be open to work on Saturdays at least once a month
• Proficient with computer software programs.
• Must report to any company facility according to company need, sometimes with same-day notice.

**The individual applying must be willing/able to travel to the plant in East LA and San Fernando.**

Schedule: Monday-Friday, Willing to work some OT and Saturdays

1st Shift: 7:30am - 4:00pm

Payrate: $21 - $25/hr (depending on experience)
