Quality Lab Technician - 2nd Shift
Responsible to test and inspect materials at various stages of processing within the facility. Analyze and evaluate results against both internal and external requirements. Make timely decisions based on relevant data.
Coordinate and administer laboratory work including regular calculation and reporting of lab KPI’s
Execution of laboratory test method calibration and maintenance
Driving appropriate test method application regarding changed or new attributes or changed industry standards
Supporting Root Cause Analysis and special investigations of problems arising during manufacturing
Make effective decisions following Trend Analysis and root cause investigations.
Perform QC testing / inspections of in-coming, in-process and finished materials. Document, report findings.
Properly gather, prepare and maintain the integrity of samples for storage or shipment
Package and ship samples as instructed by supervisor
Properly and accurately record test results and maintain manageable recordkeeping files
Maintain a complete understanding of test methods and equipment used for carrying out job responsibilities.
Ensure that supplier documentation for all materials used in production meet established specifications.
Conduct tests, when required, to confirm test results reported by others
Conduct equipment calibrations
Report unusual findings and take action
Collect and organize documents
Print and distribute labels and documents
Accurately records all required performance metric data
Conducts BBS observations and 6S audits
Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly on a continuous basis
Performs duties in a safe manner. Abides by all established safety policies.
Performs duties within guidelines of cGMP and Good Food Manufacturing Practices.
Prior experience with physical or analytical testing
Design and execution of research to support investigations
Statistical expertise for method validation
Lab data processing systems
Demonstrate predictable, reliable, and timely attendance.
Follow written and verbal directions and to complete assigned tasks on schedule.
Understand and calculate basic math. Add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use a standard calculator.
Learn from directions, observations, and mistakes, and apply procedures using good judgment.
Work independently or part of a team; ability to interact appropriately with others.
Use basic computer systems and key entry data collectors.
Computer skills needed include Word, Excel, & Access at a minimum.
