POSITION SUMMARY:

Our client is a successful, growing, innovative and financially stable global travel and technology leader and we are seeking a motivated Corporate Travel and Event Technology Sales Executive to join their growing Sales team. The Corporate Travel and Event Technology Sales Executive is responsible for developing and growing their group and event travel-related business selling to business clients who are conducting meetings and events anywhere across the U.S. and internationally.

 

The company's highly competitive offerings and technological advantages, make it very attractive to clients who are looking to streamline and simplify event travel and reduce related costs. The role collaborates with Sales leadership and internal subject matter experts in a collaborative selling approach.

 

The ideal candidate has relevant event and travel industry sales experience and demonstrated success selling high-end conceptual solutions and products to top executives at medium and large size companies in a highly competitive market. S/he is highly motivated, an entrepreneur at heart, runs their sales activity like their own business and has a desire to earn more than their current income. Experience with travel technology-related sales is a plus.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Work closely with Sales Leadership and Account Management to close event and travel prospects with annual event travel volume in the $750K to $10M+ range.
  • Prospect, qualify and pursue cold and warm event travel sales leads. Identify and qualify potential clients through online research, telephone, e-mail contact, networking and utilizing various sales tools.
  • Actively listen to prospective customers and develop an understanding of what has been said and how the company’s product and service offerings can help them.
  • Arrange appointments and schedule product demonstrations with decision makers. Follow-up and close sales.
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting and document all activity into Salesforce and other online tools used by the team.
  • Attend local industry networking events to promote product and service offerings to potential clients.
  • Travel with other company representatives to meet customers at their respective locations.

POSITION LOCATION:

This is a field-based role for candidates who reside in the greater Atlanta, GA metro area and have prospective client connections in that market. However, qualified candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S.

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Much of the role work can be done remotely, via telephone, video and online, however, the hired candidate will be required to travel to meet clients in person with the guidance of the Sales Leadership team. Travel to the company’s headquarters for onboarding and periodic field team meetings will also be required.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred.
  • 3+ years of outside sales experience selling large groups and conferences in the event travel or corporate travel industry is required.
  • Proven track record of effective selling. The successful candidate enjoys selling, understands what activities produce success in sales, demonstrates persistence and tenacity and works as a team player in a customer-centric manner.
  • Exceptional hunting and closing skills and effective in overcoming resistance.
  • Demonstrated prospecting and qualifying skills through the use of online research, telephone, e-mail contact, networking and utilizing various sales tools.
  • Strong active listening, verbal, written, presentation and influencing communication skills.
  • Is self-motivated and results-oriented. Effectively establishes priorities, works independently, and demonstrates excellent time management skills.
  • Highly skilled in identifying and developing solutions to prospective clients’ needs / problems and communicating those solutions to a wide array of influencers and decision makers.
  • Demonstrated ability in leveraging and growing an existing partner channel.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide accurate and timely reporting of activities.
  • Experience using Salesforce software is required. Proficient in the MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software / systems.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Company will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job.

 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS INFORMATION:

  • Target Base Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Variable Compensation: Attractive commission percentage paid on all sales with no cap.
