Job Description

TRU Dental PC is a comprehensive, locally owned, and health-centered dental practice devoted to restoring and enhancing the natural beauty of our patient’s teeth using conservative, state-of-the-art procedures that will result in beautiful, long-lasting smiles! We believe that when health care providers take the time to listen and allow people to truly feel listened to a more productive relationship can develop between a patient and their dental team.

We are seeking a part-time Administrative Assistant to join our team, with the potential to move to a full-time position. In this role, your responsibilities may include:

  • ·         Greet and welcome patients to the practice.
  • ·         Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments as needed.
  • ·         Assist patients to fill out information forms.
  • ·         Prepare patients’ charts and daily schedules for the dental staff.
  • ·         Update patient records and documenting recent treatments and procedures.
  • ·         Schedule follow-up appointments and provide reminders.
  • ·         Verify and explain the patient’s health insurance benefits.
  • ·         Enter data using dental practice management software.
  • ·         Present financial options and determining financial arrangements to facilitate treatment start.
  • ·         Post payments made by patients.
  • ·         Follow up on non-paid insurance claims.
  • ·         Manage late payments and overdue accounts.
  • ·         Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for upcoming appointments and prescribed medications.
  • ·         Process insurance payments and refunds.
  • ·         Scan and upload documents into patient files.
  • ·         Monitor reports to confirm payment from clients and insurance companies.

Skills we are looking for:

  • ·         High school diploma or GED.
  • ·         Certification in office administration, medical administration, or related field is advantageous.
  • ·         The ability to speak both English and Spanish (bilingual) is a plus.
  • ·         Experience working in a dental office preferred.
  • ·         Sound knowledge of dental terminology.
  • ·         Knowledge of dental practice management software (Eaglesoft).
  • ·         Proficiency with technology and computer software.
  • ·         Working knowledge of general administrative practices.
  • ·         Proper telephone etiquette.
  • ·         Exceptional organizational skills.
  • ·         Outstanding communication skills.
  • ·         Excellent customer service skills.
  • ·         A team-oriented attitude.
  • ·         An eye for detail & accuracy.
  • ·         A strong desire to provide patients with the ultimate dental experience.
