POSITION DESCRIPTION   

This position is full time exempt, in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) customer for SharePoint development and programming. Work will be conducted both via telework and on-site at the Pentagon. Support will be required in one or more of the following forms: Information Technology (IT), software, hardware, system support, and administration. The position requires widespread knowledge and experience in analysis, design, hands-on development, and delivery of web-based applications utilizing Microsoft SharePoint REST API, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, SPO and Power Apps, and Power Automate. Entails working directly with the customer on project definitions, scope, and activities.  You will report to the customer technical lead and Hartwood Contract Management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical expertise, servicing a DoD organization/government customer, in the development, implementation, deployment and maintenance of Marine Corps SharePoint Knowledge, Program, and Financial Management solutions.
  • Build scalable and secure applications in SharePoint to replicate the current applications found in the Knowledge Management System. These applications include but are not limited to: Calendar/Room Scheduler, Announcements, Finance, Regional document libraries, Strategic Engagement, Stakeholder Engagement, Action Trackers, IT Requirement Requests, RFI Trackers, Program and Resource Management, and User Feedback. The SharePoint site will not interact with external systems.
  • Write and modify code to build applications and sites based on client needs and requirements.  
  • Test software to ensure that code runs appropriately. 
  • Use source debuggers and visual development environments to debug software for client applications. 
  • Work with client to resolve any technical issues and create enhancements that will better serve their needs. Enhancements should be limited to the applications specified.
  • Provide documentation on all SharePoint code developed.  Comments shall be contained within the code (as opposed to a generated source code documentation chm like file). 
  • Following application development, provide a Software Architecture Design document (in Microsoft Word format for all applications and web parts) and a SharePoint Technical Analysis that emphasizes the technical and architecture choices; external/internal system integration.

  REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Must have an Active DoD Security Clearance (SECRET)
  • Must have a Security+ CE (current)
  • Five (5) years’ experience programming in HTML5; with JavaScript and CSS3.
  • Three (3) years’ experience developing in SharePoint
  • Astute technical writing skills and editing background
  • Ability to manage multiple projects (Project Management Professional Certification preferred)
  • Agile development experience (Scrum Master preferred)
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Work as an independent, skilled professional

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. Technology-based area 
  • Eight (8) years’ experience programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3
  • Eight (8) years’ experience developing ASP.NET – preferred utilizing MVC Web applications
  • Six (6) years’ experience developing in SharePoint
  • Certified Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA): Web Applications and/or
  • Certified Microsoft Certified Power Platform App Maker Associate and/or
  • Certified Microsoft 365 Certified Developer Associate (MS 600)

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Normal telework demands; frequent/regular work on site, at Pentagon
