Title: Director of Operations

Reports to: VP of Operations

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set an example as a leader with a management style that encourages participation and ownership by all, along with a continuous focus on execution, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and financial management.
  • Develop a strong and effective operations team. Provide positive and objective coaching/mentorship to team members.
  • Collaborate in planning, design, development, testing, and implementing new technology or enhancements to existing technology.
  • Monitor (and report on) department performance to ensure KPI’s are above desired target levels.
  • Review and approve department timecards/payroll activity.
  • Continually reinforce and encourage exemplary service delivery to all customers and ensure that all direct and indirect reports do the same, to assure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Develop direct customer relationships to ensure retention of current business and help nurture new revenue streams from current customer base.
  • Ensure that the Transport Investments Inc. brands are a destination of choice for independent contractor drivers by ensuring contractor satisfaction, second to none customer service, and best in industry retention levels.
  • Drive sales both individually, and alongside sales/business development teams to ensure revenue targets are exceeded.
  • Maintain thorough working knowledge of all services offered.
  • Conduct regular Operations meetings.

  • Strategic thinking with financial acumen to grow the business while maintaining and retaining current business.
  • Knowledge of DOT & FMCSA legal rules, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Proven track record of developing and engaging people to achieve superior results.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and the ability to maintain effectiveness during change.
  • Advanced level skills with Microsoft Suite applications.
