Job Description

*HYBRID schedule after 90 day training period*

Financial and Operational Results:

  • Prepare all truck count reports daily/monthly/quarterly.
  • Prepare daily Revenue Flash.
  • Reconcile accounts as needed and assigned.
  • Assist in preparation of sales, freight expense, and commission information by agent for yearly budget.
  • Assist Director of Finance with projects and analysis as needed/assigned.
  • Prepare and provide top agent, truck count, phys dam breakdowns by company, and mileage information to Accounting monthly for reporting needs.
  • Participate in due diligence and integration work on acquisitions

Insurance:

  • Prepare all monthly reporting for all TII insurance policies and submit to insurance carrier/broker.
  • Audit monthly insurance rosters for Occupation Accident, Physical Damage, Non Trucking, Passenger Accident, Workers Comp) to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist Safety Department with any needed corrections related to insurance reporting and insurance certificates.
  • Review accuracy of all invoices received from insurance companies and insurance brokers. Code all insurance payments to proper GL accounts.
  • Track all policy payments and broker commission payments for each insurance policy by policy year. Make sure we are in compliance with minimum premium obligations.
  • Prepare all details and gather required information for TII insurance applications/renewals and assist in preparing applications.
  • Track mileage and revenue for all contract specific excess insurance policies.
  • Policy Tracker - Responsible for keeping track and updating all policy renewal due dates, brokers, policy numbers, rates, limits, etc.
  • Insurance Audits - Responsible for preparing summary data for insurance audits with insurance carriers and reviewing the accuracy of audit premiums/refunds.
  • Prepare loss ratio analysis for certain TII insurance policies (quarterly and as needed). Maintain all loss runs received monthly from brokers.
  • Maintain all insurance policy documents including binding orders, renewal correspondence, and actual insurance policies.
  • Review renewal proposals for accuracy by comparing proposal parameters/limits with expiring parameters/limits.
  • Assist with insurance claim details for purposes of General ledger claim accruals.
  • Correspond with insurance brokers daily regarding various insurance related questions and needs.

Taxes:

  • Prepare yearly ad valorem tax returns.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an accounting or finance-related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of progressive work experience, showing evidence of growth in responsibilities
  • Direct experience utilizing enterprise accounting and financial reporting software
  • Sound fundamental knowledge of GAAP and general finance and budgeting principles
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional personal organizational skills
