Position Title: Public Relations and Graphics Specialist
Position Type: Part-Time
Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi
Work Hours: Part-Time between 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Position Summary:
TIVC is growing! We are currently seeking a part-time public relations and graphics specialist to join our team at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi. The position will require approximately 20 hours per week, but surge support may be required for travel.
Job Description:
This is a contract position based at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The position will be 48 weeks, with the potential for a longer role.
Responsibilities:
+ Researches, coordinates, writes and disseminates written content such as articles, fact sheets, and speeches for print, video and on-line formats on command programs, objectives and functions designed to reach commercial and industry audiences through the news media.
+ Develops products in support of external communication initiatives, including pitch letters, news releases and social media postings. Responds to media queries in collaboration with subject-matter experts.
+ Coordinates and organizes command and subordinate commands participation and displays for multiple Navy Fleet Week at different remote locations throughout the year.
+ Completes special projects as tasked by the Public Affairs Officer as needed.
+ Develops communication synchronization/strategic communication plans as needed, in accordance with assigned deadlines and guidance contained in SECNAVINST 5720.44B, 5720.47B, NAVMETOCCOMINST 5720 and other associated guidance.
+ Offers insightful counsel to leaders on potential media and public implications of programs or events
+ Prepares subject-matter experts and officials for interviews by researching and developing key messages and conducting rehearsals.
+ Coordinates with appropriate subject matter experts on strategic communications that include chronological frameworks identifying tools, tactics, audiences, key messages and timelines.
+ Supports the implementation of strategic communications into command initiatives including, but not limited to, the strategic planning process using established Navy strategic communication processes.
+ Distributes public affairs products in response to events, media, and community relations.
+ Supports management of graphic arts and multimedia communications support to the command including posters, displays, page design, staff support and ceremony support.
+ Manages staff master file of graphics and briefs to include content management and version control of current command presentations.
+ Takes photos and edits them into appealing digital images for multimedia products.
+ Coordinates with staff departments and subordinate commands on the consistent use of updated graphics and current presentations in all communications.
Job Requirements:

+ Must be a U.S. Citizen
+ Secret Clearance required
+ 1-2 years of Public Affairs Experience
+ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and devices (e.g., iPhone)
+ Experience supporting public relations for the U.S. Navy or in a DoD environment highly preferred.
+ Experience with graphic design and image editing software (e.g., Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, GIMP, or similar).
+ Knowledge of the practices and techniques in planning, developing and creating content for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitter) and assessing its impact.
+ Skill in written and oral communication to logically and effectively explain, defend, and gain understanding of mass media programs.
+ Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups.

+ Ability to prioritize and manage work, adhering to critical project timelines.
+ Ability to take direction and seek help when needed.
Work Environment:

+ 100% office environment
+ Some travel will be required
