THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated Database Architect to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) in Washington, D.C. The candidate will assist the USCG Ship Design Team with creating Microsoft Access Database for the Polar Security Cutter.

The candidates responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) performing or supporting the following actions:

  • Develop and maintain a Microsoft Access Database that will be used for:
    • Tracking and reporting everything from contract letters to Contract Deliverables (CDRLs), Waivers/Deviations, and TPs (condition reports), AMODs, PMODs and other contract actions.
    • Build a single large access database or many to cover liens, changes, trial cards, Request for Variances (RFVs). 

Citizenship Requirements:

  • Due to the requirements of the federal contract that this position supports, U.S. citizenship is required. Citizenship will be confirmed via I-9/E-Verify at the start of employment.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active Secret security clearance, OR be able to qualify for a new Secret security clearance upon hire.
  • Must maintain clearance for the duration of employment.

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: 

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent.
    • Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
  • At least three (3) years of recent, relevant professional experience using Microsoft Access.
  • An ideal candidate will possess a Microsoft Access Specialist certification.
  • Proficient with common productivity software including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.

Travel Requirements:

  • 0-10% travel is anticipated.

Typical Physical Activity:

  • This positions essential functions typically include (but are not limited to): typing, hearing, talking, and vision.
