The Applied Companies partners with amazing companies in Northern Nevada, we are excited to be seeking a talented Document Control Specialist for a reputable company is that is dominating the future of energy storage and mobile transportation. As the Document Control Specialist, you will be tasked with electronically managing documents and records of the company and responsible for maintaining an organized and detailed library of project documentation primarily using Hexagon SDX. The Document Control Specialist will be responsible for the administration and control of documents that are received, created, or issued as part of a project in an engineering environment.
What the Document Control Specialist will do:
- Establishes and implements policies and procedures regarding document storage, sharing, transmission, and destruction.
- Evaluates existing document management systems and procedures to determine current effectiveness and efficiency; identifies and recommends improvements.
- Consults with end users to identify problems in accessing electronic content.
- Ensures security of system and integrity of master documents by implementing document and system access rights and revision controls.
- Ensures company complies with applicable laws and regulations regarding data security and document management.
- Communicates and consults with staff when assessing, acquiring, or deploying new electronic document management systems integration to ensure smooth transition and minimal disruption.
- Maintains current knowledge of best practices and developments in document management technologies and techniques through participation in professional organizations or conferences, attendance at meetings or workshops, participation in educational programs, and discussions with colleagues.
- Coordinate transmittals and issuances of all documents between appropriate groups. Able to create reports for verification and auditing purpose.
- Proper identification and classification of documents according to company requirements.
- Oversee and maintain access requests and training of staff.
- Create and maintain document control Onboarding/Offboarding procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
What the Document Control Specialist will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, information technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience required.
- Three (3) years of work experience in a related field preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- MS Teams and SharePoint skills are preferred.
- MS Office skills required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of laws and regulations regarding document management.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills.
- Excellent and creative problem-solving skills.
- Familiar with various engineering deliverable types and formats.
- General projects experience a must.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Some Travel may be required.
This is FT, Mon – Fri -Temp to hire – Reno, NV
