IT Project Manager

*Healthcare IT Experience Required*

Local healthcare organization is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager to manage activities related to organizational projects within the Project Management Office (PMO).

Must Have:

  • 3+ years of working in a healthcare environment
  • 7+ years of experience as a Project Manager (SDLC)
  • 5+ years of experience implementing large, enterprise-wide projects
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalant experience

Nice to Have:

  • Experience leading large clinical systems implementations
  • Experience leading and mentoring other project managers
  • Experience working with healthcare providers
  • PMI issued Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

Job Description:

  • Direct and manage project development for enterprise-wide projects from beginning to end
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management
  • Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Document each project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle
  • Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommended subsequent budget changes where necessary
  • Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the assignment of required personnel from within the organization
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the PMO and project team
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools
  • Track project milestones and deliverables
  • Deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations
  • Determine the frequency and content of status reports according to defined PMO standards
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate to the involved parties throughout the project
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
  • Develop and maintain best practices and tools for project execution and management
  • Conduct quality evaluations and analysis to assess skills/knowledge level of PMO, recommend training to keep up with industry changes
  • Perform project audits to ensure compliance with defined processes and standards
  • Work closely with end-users, the training team and project team members to ensure available training for areas identified as a new process or change to an existing process
  • Attend and facilitate meetings as required and contribute ideas for improving PMO efficiencies
