Project Responsibilities:
As the primary face of the company, the Senior Project Manager strives to keep the customer happy to encourage long-term business relationships with Owner, Trade Partners Suppliers, and other company personnel. Jointly responsible for the overall success of assigned project(s). Oversees and participates in the allocation of resources to ensure a safe, timely, and quality project while achieving and improving the profit margin. Responsible for all aspects of a project (including the duties of the Project Manager) and the Leadership responsibilities as outlined below.
  • Is the company’s authority on Prime Contracts between the Owner and the company. Ensures that all Subcontracts are drafted and executed in a timely fashion to facilitate project schedule. Is directly responsible for all Contract enforcement and monitoring of Contract duties.
  • Develops a CPM schedule in cooperation with the Superintendent which complies with the customer’s needs, adheres to the terms of the Prime Contract, and supports the planning needs of the company. Maintains and updates the schedule weekly ensuring appropriate documentation of changes and distribution to project stakeholders.
Financial Management and Responsibility
  • Assumes responsibility for profit margins and fully manages all financial aspects of the project. Reports and tracks all financials for their assigned projects with month over month forecasting reports.
  • Understands, commits to, and effectively communicates the concepts and merit of the company’s philosophy of “Zero Punch List”. Ensures that quality standards of the Prime Contract are included in all Subcontracts and other agreements. Ensures that work is performed with an acceptable level of workmanship to meet and exceed the company’s standard.
  • Communicates, supports, and enforces the company’s safety programs. Proactively reviews the project site for safe working conditions and immediately stops all unsafe work to ensure OSHA and company compliance.
  • The Senior Project Manager is responsible in assisting the Human Resources Department with Operations (Project Management) team reviews and developing team member’s goals and setting a course for ongoing improvements. Participates in the team hiring process, to include reviewing resumes, preliminary screenings and interviews.
  • Responsible for training their team members in accordance with “The TEEL Way” Standard Operating Procedures as well as mentoring and coaching employees (Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers) on their team.
  • Development and continuing improvement of the Operations Department SOPs with the Director of Operations.
  • Developing new business through client satisfaction, working with preconstruction on upcoming projects, attending networking events, trade seminars, participating in various organizations and making new contacts with potential clients, owners and architects within the community.

Knowledge/Education/Skills/Abilities Required
  1. Any combination of education and experience providing the required skills and knowledge for the successful performance would be qualifying. Preferred qualifications:
  2. A minimum of 10 years construction experience, of which at least 5 years must have been in a leadership capacity.
Working Conditions
This position requires frequent field visits, 20% field and 80% office or as necessary.
