Motion Graphic Designer

Zolo Media operates two broadcast television stations in Bend, OR: KOHD-TV ABC and KBNZ-TV CBS. Central Oregon Daily News.

The Motion Graphic Designer position is responsible for executing a wide range of studio production tasks that include, but are not limited to: designing custom motion graphics for news and creative services, operating live studio graphics for news, operating the audio mixer for live newscasts, preparing video segments for newscasts, designing custom daily graphics, serving as back-up technical director as needed, and utilizing graphic software to design/implement new graphics where necessary. This role will ensure that the graphics/video/audio in newscasts result in high quality broadcasts that meet the specifications set forth by the management.

**This position has a shift of 2:30pm - 11:30pm Saturday -- Tuesday**

• Initiate and create new motion graphics package for news department
• Operate live studio graphics/video for news, operating audio mixer for live newscasts
• Direct late evening newscasts. Utilize design software to design/implement daily news graphics where needed
• Responsible for utilizing design software to design/implement daily news graphics where needed
• Prepare video segments/graphics for newscasts

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in graphic design, motion graphics, video editing or animation
• Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation and insurance

Other Qualifications

• Experience designing graphics for news department
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to run live studio graphics and video during newscasts
• Ability to run live audio mixer during newscasts
• Serve as Technical Director for late newscast and fill in as back up Director as needed
• Comfortable working in fast-paced and high stress situations
• Ability to complete work in a deadline driven environment
• Ability to work a swing shift schedule and being available for on-call in order to capture live events as needed for programming
• Familiarity with broadcast software: Ross Xpression, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Video Production Switchers, Ross Inception or iNews
