Our ultimate goal? To help patients.Department Description:The TD2 Nonclinical Operations Department assists biotech companies in preclinical validation of new therapeutics in oncology. TD2s mission is to accelerate the development of promising cancer treatments and to get these much-needed therapeutics to patients.Position Summary:The Research Associate Formulation is responsible for preparing test article dosing solutions/suspensions that will be used to support pharmacology studies.
The Research Associate will work... closely with research staff to ensure adherence to study protocols.Essential Functions:Formulate test articles as described in study protocols and assist in formulation development as necessary.Prepare and utilize dosing calculation documentation to verify test article preparation.Maintain compound inventory log upon receipt of materials and inventory of in-use test articles and excipients.Troubleshoot and solve equipment/technical problems associated with formulation preparation.Communicate frequently with research staff and support personnel to ensure compliance with all protocol driven activities and to enable proactive adjustment of the protocol by management in the event of unexpected events or findings.Responsible for use, maintenance and calibration of equipment, e.g. balances, mixers.Complete self-review of formulation data for accuracy and completeness against the protocol and working guidelines; appropriately document and correct data errors, notify appropriate study personnel as required.Apply keen attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective and positive interpersonal and communication skills.Assist in other aspects of lab duties as required.Job Requirements:Bachelors degree in chemistry, pharmacy, biology, or related field.Ability to work in a laboratory environment with frequent standing and walking.Perform basic mathematical calculations.Experience performing formulation preparations for in vivo studies.Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays and overtime.Born from the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), TD2 was formed in 2003 as a subsidiary of TGen, and less than two years later, opened its doors on the campus of the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz.
