Sr. Electrical Engineer (TEMPEST/EMI)

Summary

T2S Solutions, LLC, a veteran owned small business, currently has an opening for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in TEMPEST/EMI to join our team in Belcamp, MD. The Engineer will provide senior level technical and engineering subject matter expertise in support of a Department of Defense program. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Department of Defense and Intelligence Community (IC) security standards, controls, and requirements, including TEMPEST, EMI/EMC requirements are applied to information systems including National Security Systems (NSS).

As a Senior Electrical Engineer in this role, you should have a deep knowledge of the Department of Defense, and Intelligence Community programs and mechanics. In addition, you should be able to provide strategic technical expertise across topics of TEMPEST, EMI/EMC design, compliance, and testing/test planning for a variety of cyber, communications, information systems, and other applications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

+ A proven professional with the ability to contribute subject matter expertise to a team of technical and non-technical members.

+ Exceptional communication skills required to brief senior leadership on system authorization status, issues, and corrective actions/plans for DoD products and systems undergoing evaluations and certifications.

+ Excellent time management skills to address a breadth of time bound programmatic and engineering related tasks. Strong problem-solving skills to address unforeseen issues and develop action/resolution strategies.

+ Perform system level decomposition of TEMPEST or EMI/EMC requirements

+ Develop, analyze, or provide feedback to TEMPEST or EMI/EMC design requirements at sub-system level

+ Provide support and feedback to all phases of the requirements and design review process

+ Support hardware design engineering to ensure compliance with TEMPEST and EMI/EMC requirements

+ Contribute, analyze, review, or provide feedback to the development of the TEMPEST Control Plan as necessary

+ Contribute, analyze, review, or provide feedback to the development TEMPEST test plans and test procedures as necessary

+ Experience with design for TEMPEST and EMI/EMC compliance and system level integration (bonding, grounding, shielding, filtering, transient suppression)

+ Familiarity with TEMPEST standards including NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02, and related NSA technical memorandums

+ Familiarity with TEMPEST test equipment such as, TEMPEST receivers, oscilloscopes, dynamic signal analyzers, signal generators, etc.

+ Experience working with Military Services, requirements, and stakeholders to address mission solutions both in garrison and at the tactical edge.

Required Qualifications:

+ DoD Top Secret/SCI

+ 7+ years’ experience within Electrical Engineering or related fields.  Experience includes, but not limited to the following:

+ Experience with NSA Information Assurance Security Requirements Directive and High Assurance testing

+ Experience with equipment, sub-system and system level EMI/EMC test (Expertise in MIL-STD 461)

+ Experience in showing compliance to TEMPEST or EMI/EMC requirements processes for equipment and sub-systems

+ Technical ability to develop, document, and maintain tailored TEMPEST or EMI/EMC requirements at equipment, sub-system, and system levels

+ Technical ability to perform TEMPEST or EMI/EMC design and analysis at both system and hardware level

+ Experience leading TEMPEST or EMI efforts with integrated product teams (IPTs)

+ Experience testing in accordance with NSTISSAM TEMPEST/1-92, CNSSAM TEMPEST 01-02

+ Mitigating and managing risks to vulnerable National Security Systems (NSS).

+ Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required. However, a Graduate Degree in a related field of study is preferential. Additional years of experience can be used in lieu of degree.

+ Candidate is a Certified TEMPEST Professional Level II or be a Level I with the ability to achieve a Level II certification
