Summary of Position Functions

The primary role of the Project Engineer is as follows:

  •  Support the sales process by providing an analysis of the clients requirements related to software applications, hardware bill of materials, environmental and operational factors and technical specifications and producing a scope document based upon these factors.
  •  Develop and implement an installation plan based upon the scope document, which will ensure that T2 Systems will properly implement the proposed solution in a professional and timely manner.


In fulfilling this role, the Project Engineer is responsible for the overall design and implementation of the proposed solution, including supervising the installation of all hardware and software products included in the approved Scope of Work.  

The position requires the skills and expertise needed to formulate and document a fully integrated solution based upon the client requirements.  This encompasses the ability to analyze complex client environments including, infrastructure, hardware and software factors, and crafting a solution that is the best fit for the client.

This position works with internal project management, sales, and technical teams, as well as external 3rd parties to ensure the installation and operations of T2 hardware and software products meet client expectations.  This includes acquiring resources and managing the efforts of internal technical team members and 3rd party contractors while onsite. 

Responsibilities also include assisting T2 Sales with the technical requirements and hardware implementation plans for PARCS installations, developing and managing acceptance test plans to confirm hardware and software performance in accordance with contractual obligations, documenting test results, and supervising and assisting with required onsite installation, commissioning, and relevant service tasks. 

The successful candidate should have in-depth parking industry knowledge combined with solid technical understanding of the hardware and software typically used in the current parking access and revenue controlled environments.


Essential Position Functions

  •  Contributes to the sales process by providing project analysis, operational application, and technical reviews of all potential PARCS projects.  
  •  Assists in customer presentations, conferences, attends RFP/Bid meetings, and coordinates 3rd party resources. 
  •   Gathers detailed information on the client's parking operations, procedures, and technology infrastructure in order to recommend the best hardware and software configuration options. Information gathering may require travel to the clients site.
  •  Provides thorough opportunity analysis, solution scoping, pricing, RFP/Bid responses, and proposal validation, along with all supporting documentation.  
  • Works with Product Management to understand and communicate latest solution hardware and software roadmaps, and incorporates roadmap information into solution assessment and project development.
  •  Manages the configuration of hardware and software solutions, as designed, for staging, factory acceptance testing, and client acceptance testing.
  •   Develops and delivers facility installation, roll-out, and go-live plans along with functional designs and installation specifications for 3rd parties.
  • Serves as the primary onsite point of contact for the client on hardware installation.  
  • Leads on-site technical staff and 3rd parties in the preparation and installation of hardware and software solutions to reflect client business requirements, as outlined in the project solution design document, as well as delivery and installation of 3rd party products for each location.  
  • Sets and continually manages project expectations with internal and external team members and T2 Systems management by providing regular status reports as required to cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Develops client relationships to assist them in analyzing and resolving any system installation or functional issues or errors, post-installation punch-list creation and support, and project closure. 
  • Ability to Manage multiple system installations and projects simultaneously.

Education and Qualifications

  • To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  •  A bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university. 
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of prior experience as an engineer, project manager, technician, or related field of work in the manufacturing, electronics, security, or parking and transportation industry; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge of a technical nature required.
  • Advanced experience and knowledge in project management and organizational skills required.
  •   The ability to develop and write a clear and concise scope document that describes the solution to all stakeholders and also articulate the solution verbally to the all stakeholders is required.
  •   Experience with managing 3rd party vendors is preferred. 
  •   Experience in providing technical training preferred.
  • Experience in hardware, software, and firmware implementation or development environments preferred.
  •  Ability to travel up to 50% of the time


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Detailed knowledge of T2's software products, services, and processes (current and new) is required which can be obtained through training, practice, reading, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to formulate and prepare a Scope document and present it to a prospective client.
  •  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from prospects, clients, management, and staff.
  •  Ability to be task oriented and highly organized.
  •  Ability to work in a remote environment with little to no supervision.  
  •  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business, professional, and technical documents.
  • Ability to write presentations, reports, proposals, and correspondence.
  • Ability to respond, in a timely manner, to common inquiries or complaints from customers and staff. 
  •  Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
  •  Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  •   Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
  •   Ability to work effectively independently, under pressure, and extra hours if needed.
  •  Demonstrated ability to learn and implement new hardware and software systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of various software products including: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
