The Technology Business Management Analyst (TBMA) working in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Office will act as a consultant and partner with Global Technology associates to provide guidance and support to ensure cost transparency of technology assets and services. This role will ensure stakeholders have the relevant and current information that increases cost transparency of their applications and services. The TBMA will work on efforts of medium to high complexity and be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and support of the TBM Solution (Apptio). Other responsibilities include:

  • Requires working and conceptual knowledge in their own job discipline
  • Performs a range of assignments related to a job discipline
  • Accountable for their own work and effective coordination of process and information with others
  • Works independently, within guidelines and policies for ongoing work; may receive general guidance on new assignments

  • Defines business needs for new and/or enhanced products, services, or optimized business processes
  • Active participant in all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Works closely with a variety of internal and external business partners to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and met
  • Applies a lean-agile mind-set to work and supports organizational agility
  • Efforts are focused on a specific system or business applications
  • Independently works with subject matter experts on low to medium complexity work to ensure clarity of the problem/opportunity and elicit business requirements
  • Demonstrates strong logic and reasoning capabilities
  • Delivers on well-specified work items
  • Uses questions and proposals to clarify requirements when unclear
  • Leads discussions with the business on multiple options to help solve the root cause, including various trade-offs and recommended approach
  • May provide on-the-job training to new team members

Total Cost of Ownership - System Administration and Management
  • Provide day to day functional and technical support of TBM Solution (Apptio) which includes but not limited to -
  • Perform monthly close of TBM Solution
  • Open and monitor vendor incident tickets
  • Management of TCO office mailbox and requests
  • Management of Data loads
  • Demonstrates the ability to analyze and interpret data sets of various sizes and sources and present a deliverable with a conclusion derived from the analysis.
  • Demonstrates the ability to map and transform large sets of data
  • Develops an understanding of TCO data and its sources and ensure data quality and accuracy for consumption
  • Trace through complex models to determine data flows and/or troubleshoot issues
  • Provide adhoc cost reporting & analysis for customers
  • Work with vendor and internal development teams on implementing and testing new functionality
  • Develops and maintains documentation such as test cases, process diagrams, data models, and test plans.

Total Cost of Ownership - Collaboration, Support, and Communication
  • Engages and collaborates with technology and finance teams on TCO initiatives such as, cost transparency of technology assets, metrics, and data governance
  • Provide user training in large and individual settings
  • Independently leads process & data improvement initiatives and discussions with technology and business associates
  • Gather and translate TCO and/or customer functional and technical requirements and provide a recommended solution
  • Participate in and/or provide hands-on support for technology associates for efforts such as application reviews and quarterly certification.
  • Develop and manage TCO content published on internal collaboration platform

Total Cost of Ownership - Self-Development and Training
  • Stays current with TBM Solution's roadmap and new capabilities and identifies training or conferences to further enhance skillset
  • Regularly updates and reviews their 'Individual Development Plan' to ensure they are tracking to career goals and objectives
  • Continually educates self analytically and/or technically in alignment with the TCO Office and Global Technology strategy and vision

  • Typically requires 1+ years of relevant experience
  • Articulates all phases of the software development life cycle
  • Actively seeks feedback and guidance to improve technical skills
  • Identifies system/process/data impacts (upstream and downstream) and proposes appropriate alternatives/ remediation
  • Demonstrates some understanding in multiple technologies/ applications
  • Can explain basic technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Identifies impacts across teams and coordinates to manage dependencies and potentially competing priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop multiple solutions to moderately complex problems and recommend the best solution to the business and project team
  • Ability to apply acquired knowledge from prior experience effectively in new situations (low to medium complexity)
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of allocations or chargebacks
  • Basic programming knowledge
  • Basic financial understanding including budgeting, variance analysis, and financial statements
  • Understands relationship between people, processes and technology within an organization to create a feasible solution on projects of low to medium complexity
  • Knowledge of relational databases
  • Strong to expert level skills in MS Excel (If statements, vlookup, pivot tables, etc)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, MIS, or Math with 3+ years of related work experience
  • Apptio or other TBM related tool experience
  • BI Tools Experience (Tableau or QlikSense)
  • Servicing Tools (ServiceNow) experience
  • Prior relevant industry experience
  • Some SQL Knowledge
