Job Description

T-Rex Solutions is seeking an Automation Test Engineer to support the test and development of products using cutting edge technologies as part of a large new modernization effort supporting GSA named Acquisition Streamlining and Standardization Information System (ASSIST) Optimization. The candidate will be an integral component of a team of passionate and enthusiastic IT professionals and has tremendous opportunities to contribute to this new program. In this role, the ideal candidate will be responsible for testing products in a Cloud platform for enterprise-wide use. These products include modern enterprise applications accessible and responsive via any device (web/mobile).

Responsibilities:

  • Implement detailed test designs using test automation platforms and integration across distributed systems following BDD principles.
  • Design and develop System Test Automation Scripts
  • Support Test Automation Solution Planning and Estimation for automated test implementation including review acceptance criteria, create integration/regression test scenarios, test cases, implement test data management strategy, and generate required reports.
  • Collaboratively elaborate requirements to enable Acceptance Test Driven Development (ATDD) with BAs and developers
  • Build performance testing frameworks that can be leveraged by development teams and QA teams to do their performance testing.
  • Ability to work closely with Application Development and DevOps teams to identify, troubleshoot and debug performance issues.
  • Follows defined development workflows and quality processes and creates the required design and development artifacts
  • In coordination with others, monitors and analyzes production performance, while looking for ways to optimize and scale existing solutions.
  • Monitors product and process metrics (such as speed of delivery, quality, usability) and implements process improvements and product enhancements
  • Promotes knowledge sharing activities within and across different product teams by creating and engaging in communities of practice and through documentation, training, and mentoring

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain Federal Government Public Trust clearance
  • 7+ years of full-lifecycle application development experience
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science of related field can substitute for years of experience: Associates Degree replaces 3 years, Bachelors Degree replaces 6 years, and Masters Degree replaces 8 years of experience.
  • Experience in automation testing using JavaScript Frameworks such as AngularJS
  • Ability to perform testing using Selenium, Karma and Jasmine
  • Experience with Automated testing tools, ATDD and BDD methodologies
  • Experience using Agile, DevSecOps, Test driven development, and/or other lean methodologies. Ability to contribute to Scrum ceremonies

Desired Skills:

  • Strong programming/scripting experience and passion for testing
  • Experience with Agile management tools such as JIRA or Rally Software

In compliance with pay transparency guidelines, the annual base salary range for this position is $88,000 - $121,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. T-Rex considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
