Title: DIRECT-HIRE Jr/mid level Information Security Specialist - SCIF Manager ( w/ TS/SCI clearance)
Location: Chantilly, VA 
Security clearance: Active TS/SCI Security Clearance Required
Compensation: 75,000 - 95,000/yr w2 + Full Benefits & Bonuses 

Per Federal Government Sector, must be US Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance and be able to pass federal guidelines for security clearance

ALTA IT is seeking an experienced Information Security Specialist- SCIF Manager( Junior/Mid Level) 

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: 

• Applies practical knowledge of commonly applied information security principles, concepts, and methodologies to resolve well-defined questions or conditions. 
• Identifies information requiring protection, such as documents, materials, and devices, and designates the level of protection based on prescribed parameters, well-defined procedures, as well as internal and external policies.
• Assists in designing and conducting information security inspections and surveys in support of efforts to assess the security of the organization's classified national security information procedures and implementing policies.
• Identifies and performs preliminary inquiries of incidents involving the mishandling of classified information.
• Recommends follow-up actions and closure of preliminary inquiries. Assists with the classification and declassification of materials and information.
• Reports unusual or unfamiliar documentation to supervisor or higher graded specialist.
• Communicates with customers on a daily basis.
• Manages the day to day scheduling, opening, closing and other required actions for the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).
• Provides indoctrinations and debriefings when applicable.
• Responsible for setting up Secure Video Teleconference Equipment (SVTC) and secure phones
• Checks clearances/badges upon entry
• Ensures PEDs are not brought into the SCIFs
• Plans and provides instruction covering a wide variety of security topics in well-established areas of a security program. Uses a wide range of teaching methods or tools, depending on the students' learning requirements. Courses are highly structured and have a variety of available training materials. Resolves instructional problems related to typical problems of communication and student motivation.
• Performs the preliminary analysis of security system controls, such as reviewing standard designs, inspecting facilities where sensitive material will be located, and evaluating the effectiveness of existing security practices.
•  Recommends security control systems, using well-defined methods and procedures to ensure that materials are not compromised, sabotaged, stolen, misused, or subjected to terrorist, malicious mischief, or other acts of willful interference.
•  Drafts recommendations for local processes and procedures and follows up with superiors to determine the effectiveness of security controls. Reports findings, with recommendations, to higher graded specialists.
• The qualified candidate will exhibit the ability to work and multitask independently or in a collaborative environment. 

Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Three years of experience, education, and/or training in Industrial and Information Security. 
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• TS/SCI Security Clearance Required.
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Working knowledge of ICD 704 and EO 13526
• Strong customer service and organizational skills.
• Quick learner with multitasking ability.
• Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively interface with all levels of management.
• Ability to meet deadlines and exercise efficiency in planning, prioritizing, and accomplishing assigned tasks.
• Ability to work later shifts when required (between 5pm and 8pm)
