We offer professional development based on an international industrial project with a high technological component. OVERVIEW: We are conducting several Rolling Stock projects in US. The detailed design of those projects is developed in Spain led by the Technical Project Manager (TPM) who requires support of the Deputy Technical Program Manager in the U.S. We are looking for a person to take on the role of Deputy Technical Program Manager (DPTM). Based in Boston, MA, this position be integrated into the Design Team. In coordination with the Technical Project Manager (TPM), the Deputy Technical Project Manager (DTPM) will hold the responsibility to lead all design reviews, processes, and procedures with the Customer on site. He will support the TPM to manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team to carry out the project design. He will coordinate and liaise with stake holders for technical matters during the project’s life cycle. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION: In collaboration with the Technical Project Manager: • Will be part of the Design Team and will interact with all the members. • Will coordinate, with the TPM, the activities of the Customer design review, to ensure company’s strategy is followed and goals achieved. • Will play a key role in day-to-day contact with the Customer. • Will report to the TPM on the status of the design activities and coordinate with him/her to adjust the budget and the resources assigned to the project. • · Establish goals and objectives for the Design Team and make the corresponding evaluations of their performance. TRAINING/EDUCATION REQUIRED: • BA/BS Degree from an accredited university in relevant engineering field, preferably mechanical or electrical. • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Design Coordination / Management QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: • Very good interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. • Critical thinking abilities and analytical skills. • Project management experience. • Proven level of autonomy and availability for frequent travelling within the US and overseas. • Understanding oral and written Spanish desirable • Strong commitment to safety in all job aspects • Demonstrated successful leadership abilities within a business environment • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Experienced in the Railway Industry is highly desirable • Strong ability to analyze, problem solve, and think strategically • Based at the manufacturing site in Boston, MA, shall be able to spend extended time and frequently near customer offices. • Availability to travel (and stay for some periods) to Spain and Elmira (NY).
