About Us

Through leading innovations, we help farmers around the world meet the challenge of feeding a growing population and taking care of our planet. We currently have two openings for an R&D Scientist, in Vero Beach, Florida.

In this role, you will be an influential part of a highly motivated research team at the Vero Beach Research Center.  Design, initiate, and conduct research and development projects including field, greenhouse, growth chamber, and lab studies with the focus to support the North American Disease Control program.

 

Accountabilities

  • Conduct and coordinate high-quality trials, contributing to the biological profiling and label development of fungicides.

  • Contribute to or lead project planning and defining experimental objectives; ensuring trial implementation; generating or acquiring data and information.

  • Summarize trial data and provide recommendations, identify development opportunities for product label expansion or further research.

  • Work with team members, Technical Managers, and other stakeholders on trial design and implementation.

  • Provide technical support and training e.g. coordinate demonstration trials for training/education for internal and external persons, and participate in various site tours for internal and external groups.

  • Provide technical data and information in support of special local, state, regional, and national labeling actions.

  • Actively participate in project teams within the Crop Protection Field Development network

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

  • Ph.D. degree, or M.S. degree (with a minimum of 3 years in research) in plant pathology. Demonstrated experience and/ or training in Plant Pathology field, greenhouse, or lab. research.

  • Experience conducting independent research in plant pathology; conception, execution, and data analysis.

  • Experience conducting disease control field trials to evaluate fungicides with respect to efficacy, crop tolerance, crop agronomy, and other related experimental techniques.

  • Experience with a diverse range of economically important crop path systems is a distinct advantage.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and people skills. Knowledge of statistical analysis.

  • Travel 10-15%
