Job Description

Synergy Advanced Healthcare LLC in Torrington, CT is looking for one LPN / Medical Assistant to join our team. We are a privately owned medical practice dedicated to the patient experience and family like atmosphere! Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, motivated, and hard-working.


As the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Medical Assistant (MA) you will be responsible for assisting with clinical and administrative duties at our facility. You will be responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, coordinating daily administrative tasks, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and assisting our practitioners during medical procedures to provide an exceptional patient experience and positive health outcome.


● Greeting and communicating with patients in person or via phone or text messaging.

● Answering phone calls, responding to patient questions, verifying patient information and reasons for visit.

● Scheduling new and existing patients in accordance with practice guidelines,

● Communicate with Insurance Carriers to verify member benefits and complete prior authorizations for procedures and medications.

● Prepare patients for the healthcare visit by accompanying them to the examining room.

● Keeping patient information confidential.

● Triages telephone calls and displays ability to initiate appropriate intervention in prompt, precise, and professional manner.

● Perform preliminary physical tests; take blood pressure, weight, and temperature; report patient history summary.

● Administer injections as ordered by providers (LPN Only).

● Collect and prepare laboratory specimens to include blood, urine, and saliva.

● Perform EKG's and other diagnostic tests.

● Maintains medical supplies inventory and performs preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating.

● Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit.

● Prepares and administers medications for patients as directed by physicians.

● Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential.

● Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.

● Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.

● Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements.

● Other duties as assigned by management.


● Current Connecticut LPN License or Medical Assistant Diploma preferred.

● At least one year experience working in a Primary Care Office preferred.

● Phlebotomy experience preferred.

● EKG experience preferred.

● Basic understanding of patient care, medical terminology, coding procedures, reference tools, and appropriate clinical pharmacology for medical assistant practice scope

● Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills

● Familiarity with electronic medical health care record systems

● Ability to walk, sit and stand for extended periods.

● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
