Overview:


Under the general supervision of the Senior Director, Human Resources, the Payroll & HRIS Manager will have overall responsibility for North American payroll, legislative requirements and processing, technology implementation and enhancements of the ADP Workforce Now Payroll and HRIS system, and data analysis to drive strategy and decision making.


The Payroll & HRIS Manager will manage and evaluate the payroll technology and processes in support of HR activities across Syner-G. Responsible for leading system updates, identify and implement process improvements and help us to maximize our technology investment by implementing solutions to assist in simplifying HR related transactions and operations. This role will provide guidance for payroll activities and partner closely with the Finance team as well as support all work necessary to accomplish the Company’s payroll processing operations.



Job Functions:

  • Establish and monitor all aspects of Syner-G’s North American payroll operations, HRIS system maintenance and utilization and leveraging data for business operations. The Payroll & HRIS Manager will need to collaborate with all functional leaders to achieve both local and companywide objectives.
  • This is an individual contributor role, that will work as a part of the Human Resources team. The Payroll & HRIS Manager will oversee, as well as assist with, different operations functional areas and is expected to understand each role to include all responsibilities including:


Payroll


  • Lead and oversee the payroll administration process, data maintenance and systems integration; supervise payroll processing during its entire lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with all Federal, State and local government legislation related to HR/Payroll data and data protection.
  • Write system specifications and prepare data interfaces; design, automate, maintain, and communicate data audits.
  • Working with site HR teams, analyze and improve processes and policies to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll as well as compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide oversight and guidance for payroll quality controls, and the training of staff on policies and procedures, ensuring internal control over payroll processes and support of audit requests
  • Establish and maintain a collaborative partnership with internal and external customers; proactively meet with internal customers to help maximize customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain awareness of contractual agreements, government regulations affecting HRIS and payroll procedures.
  • Responsible for compiling statistics, working with auditors and HR staff as required, and preparing required government reports/filings including yearend tax, W2’s, 1094/1095, etc.


Human Resources Information Systems


  • Analyze, plan, and organize all aspects of ADP Workforce Now technical environments.
  • Write system specifications and prepare data interfaces; design, automate, maintain, and communicate data audits.
  • Oversee data quality/integrity of the system, system feeds, configurations, updates, and employee record accuracy.
  • Ensure HRIS and payroll services are well documented with robust operating plans
  • Conduct system audits of various payroll, benefits and other HR programs and recommend corrective actions as needed.
  • Partner with vendors and internal teams to support ongoing HR processes, and administration.
  • Participate in vendor evaluation, negotiation, and selection process; maintain awareness of HRIS vendor plans and the potential impact of those plans on current and future HRIS functionality.
  • Responsible for compiling statistics/data, working with auditors and HR staff as required, and preparing required government reports/filings including EE0-1 and WC audits.



Data Analytics


  • Develop reporting dashboards for tracking purposes
  • Analyze data, trends, platform utilization to guide decision making process for HR practices and programs
  • Other related duties and projects as required and assigned.

Education:


  • BS/BA


Technical Experience:


  • Minimum five to seven years of Payroll and HRIS experience, ADP WFN required.
  • 5+ years of n-depth knowledge and experience in managing multi-state payrolls and compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in system architecture, carrier interfaces and data base management required.
  • CPP or PHR/SPHR certification a plus.

  • Well versed in current system trends with the ability to translate data into insights and strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively within a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills; ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, to coordinate multiple tasks concurrently, and to meet deadlines.
  • Strong computer proficiency in the use of the MS Office Suite of software (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Flexible and available to work additional hours as required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.



Work Location:


The Payroll & HRIS Manager position is eligible for remote work based on company requirements, with no minimum in office-requirement; however, occasional travel will be required to the Framingham, MA office at least once a quarter and during an onboarding period.
