Records Management Technician

***Must have at least one year of experience in a non medical, non correctional records position***

Job Activities of the Records Management Technician include:
• Works closely with Records Analysts, Student Interns and Content Analysts on PAB Betterments and NGS Decommissioning Document Handling Projects and RM Program Enhancements Project
• Facilitates proper box management/paper records handling
• Assists with the development, maintenance, implementation, dissemination/publication and update of the SRP Records Retention Schedule
• Develops, maintains and disseminates department operational procedures
• Assists with tracking and reporting on Records Management Training attendance
• Identifies and documents problems in work processes, suggest improvements, and implements approved recommendations
• Oversees student intern work, validates for accuracy and assigns projects as necessary
• Works with records and information management systems and applications, such as GainRM, WebForms, OpenText
• Develops, maintains and provides reports for users and management as necessary
• Works with departments to review and process inventories and gain approval for disposition of records
• Coordinates transfer of records amongst business areas and to and from off-site storage facility, ensure proper identification, tracking and security
• Assesses and maintains high quality data associated with records inventories and databases
• Assists with development of training materials and provides training for end-users and new team members
• Provides research, assistance and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding records and information management
• Maintains knowledge and awareness of current trends, methods and technologies related to records and information management
• Performs other duties as assigned

2.0 Project Deliverables:
The Records Management Technician will be responsible for producing the following deliverables:
• Status Reports, Inventory Reports, and other metrics for the various business areas and leadership – Ongoing throughout the project
• Operational procedures and training materials for departmental staff and stakeholders – Updated as needed throughout the project as processes/technology changes and as new resources are assigned
• Data quality assessments and documented opportunities for improvements – Ongoing throughout the project
• Reviewed and approved content inventories / transfer lists – Ongoing throughout the project
