CPRC Children's is seeking a full-time Therapist. Professional candidate is responsible for the provision of assessment and therapy services to children and young adult clients 3-25 years of age and their families addressing behavioral and mental health symptoms. Special skills and expertise related to working with child/adolescent and young adults with severe emotional disturbance is required.
Perform psychosocial assessments to determine appropriate service needs.
Completion and timely submission of accurate clinical documentation that includes, but not limited to the Psychosocial Treatment Plan, Progress Notes, Treatment Plan Reviews, and Discharge Summaries.
Perform individual, family and group therapy utilizing approved treatment approaches as sanctioned by Swope Health Services’ Behavioral Health Department in various service locations.
Submit accurate and timely billing documentation consistent with the requirements of the particular payer or contract, i.e. Missouri Department of Mental Health, MoHealthNet, private insurance, or the Jackson County Community Mental Health Fund, etc.
Meet expected productivity standards.
Participate in continuous Performance Improvement activities, specifically auditing and monitoring of clinical documentation, to include conducting and analyzing peer reviews, comprehensive chart reviews, outcome measurement and reporting findings.
Be an active member of the treatment team including coordinating care of clients and facilitating/participating in treatment team meetings as scheduled.
Must possess and demonstrate expertise in the area of diagnostic formulation and key evidence based practices, i.e. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Trauma Informed Care.
Available to assist in mental health crisis situations if the need arises.
Must complete annual agency trainings as required by Swope Health Services and participate in ongoing trainings to meet continued education licensure requirements and department needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
1. Licensed in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling and Guidance or related field (LCSW or LPC). LMSW or PLPC and under supervision may be reviewed and accepted under approved situations.
2. At least two (2) years of counseling experience with adults with serious mental illness and children/youth with serious emotional disturbances. Preferred experience with children, families, and young adults.
3. Working knowledge of the DSM-V and the ability to assess mental health disorders.
Play therapy certification or Thera-Play experience
Experience with Co-Occurring Disorders
EMDR trained or certified
