The People & Culture Coordinator will provide process efficiency and support to BZAM’s internal stakeholders and act as an Administrator and liaison with various external stakeholders, streamlining Human Resource processes, communication, and department output. Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, the P&C Coordinator will be broadly skilled in the areas of compliance and organizational support. The successful candidate will exude passion for the cannabis industry, the Human Resources profession, and demonstrate commitment in a dynamically shifting environment. This individual will assist in coordinating in all areas of People & Culture, strategically and transactionally.
Ø Respond to inquiries regarding employment issues and HR policies in addition to providing proactive advice and recommendations where possible;
Ø Conduct required data entry and preparation of required documentation for managers and employees; run basic and standardized reports;
Ø Support senior management in the application of Human Resource policies and best practices, providing guidance and advice as appropriate; Write, revise and edit company policies and procedures and related documents as needed;
Ø Complete and process documentation throughout the employee lifecycle including onboarding, training and learning, payroll, benefits administration, performance evaluation and employment exit, updating employee files as necessary;
Ø Maintain knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to the cannabis industry and the day-to-day management of employees, ensuring compliance;
Ø Assist in development and implementation of recognition programs to increase employee engagement and morale; coordinate monthly staff events and initiatives as required.
Ø Collaborate on cultural initiatives for all BZAM subsidiaries, ensuring consistency of messaging and organizational community;
WHAT YOU BRING:
Ø Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration;
Ø CPHR designation or candidate considered an asset;
Ø Proactive mindset and ability to self-motivate and direct;
Ø Firm knowledge of employment legislation including the BC Employment Standards Act, BC Human Rights Code and Workers Compensation Act;
Ø Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices pertaining to the human resources field.
Ø Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with strong attention to detail;
Ø Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) coupled with strong interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of personalities in a dynamic environment.

Ø 2-3 years’ experience in an HR Coordinator or Administrative role, preferably in a highly regulated industry; Equivalent education and experience will be considered;
Ø Experience with HR software implementation (HRIS, ATS, etc.);
Ø Exceptional experience with MS Office and Google Suites; and
Ø Experience with Foreign Worker programs considered a strong asset.
