Sutter Regional Medical Foundation (SRMF) is the Greater Solano and Contra Costa County's largest multi-specialty physician organization. The Staff RN works with the physician and/or other nursing staff in providing medical care to patients of various ages according to the policy of the individual practice and in accordance with nursing professional standards and medical group policies and procedures. This position acts as a clinical resource for the department or area and is available to triage patients as necessary, either within the clinc or over the phone. Clinical duties may include: taking medical histories, recording vital signs and current medications, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination. The Staff RN performs test and procedures for all modalities within her/his department.. Staff RNs are also responsible for developing nursing care plans, instructing patients and their families in proper care, and help individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health. The Staff RN identifies possible abnormal test results and completes follow-ups as necessary, and participates in "Code Blue" and other emergent situations.
The Staff RN ensures the fee tickets sheets are completed with accurate CPT service codes and ICD-9 diagnosis codes for services performed directly and monitors the fee tickets of the area physicians .

MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of: Demonstrates competence in clinical specialty. Computer skills, basic mathematics, spelling and English writing skills. Professional clinical image or business image according to policy. Effective leadership, negotiation and positive customer relation skills. Medical terminology & coding familiarity.
Ability to: Plan, organize, assign and schedule work and set priorities; gather, synthesize, summarize, analyze and abstract information.
Experience and Education: Any combination equivalent to experience and education that could likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Experience - Recent related experience equivalent to a minimum of 2 years in a physician practice, hospital or other healthcare facility experience preferred1 years, recent supervisory experience preferred.
Education - CPR certification, ACLS preferred. Documentation of current Registered Nurse license with the State of California. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing - BSN preferred. Documentation of continuing education.
Other: Prefer at least two years (within last five years) telephone advice/triage experience and two years of Ambulatory Clinic experience. Prefer additional language skills (Spanish). Computer skills that include working knowledge of PC- based software programs and automated database management systems and professional presentation skills.
