The nurse functions on the multidisciplinary team as a clinical resource, care provider, advocate, educator and counselor for oncology patients. The nurse is responsible for ensuring all adult patients with an oncology diagnosis receive quality and comprehensive services by coordinating care with the multidisciplinary team. Provides expert nursing care based on theoretical principals and scientific knowledge and within the scope of the California Nurse Practice Act.
- Current California RN License and Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification.
- Master's degree preparation in a clinical field of nursing or a clinical field related to nursing;
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience and training related to Oncology Services.
- OCN or AOCN credential - must be obtained within 2 years of hire
