We are actively hiring for a PACU Nurse Manager at Danbury Surgical Center in Danbury, CT.
Danbury Surgical Center is a busy, well-established outpatient surgical center that has been serving the greater Danbury area for over 35 years. Currently, we perform procedures in the specialties of Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, ENT, Plastic Surgery, Spine, Pain Management, and GI Endoscopy.
Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the PACU Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall functioning and daily operations of Admitting, PACU and pre-operative phone calls while ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality care is delivered for each patient.
The PACU Nurse Manager is an integral part of the facility's Core Leadership Team and frequently collaborates with other department managers to ensure overall patient safety and satisfaction.
Responsible for adequate staff scheduling in Admitting, PACU & pre-operative phone calls.
Supervises the smooth flow of patient care, anticipates admissions and discharges, ensures continuity of care and availability of appropriate staff and equipment as required.
Responsible for ordering medications for all areas of the facility per formulary.
Responsible for direction, teaching, coaching, counseling, and monitoring job results of Admitting, PACU and pre-operative phone call personnel. Demonstrates positive attitudes and is a role model for others.
Active participation in the facility's Quality Council to identify performance and quality improvement opportunities.
Responsible for assisting with the achievement of positive patient outcomes through implementation and promotion of facility policies and procedures. Promotes the vision, mission, and values of SCA.
Assists in setting standards and developing nursing care policies and procedures.
Participates in direct patient care when needed.
Education, Experience and Licensure:
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and/or BSN
- Current CT RN license
- 2+ years of medical/surgical/PACU nursing experience
- 2+ years of nursing management experience
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 90 of employment or documentation of current BLS/BCLS certification.
- Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current ACLS certification.
- Successful completion of Pediatric Advance Life support (PALS) course within 90 days of employment or documentation of current PALS certification.
