Job Description

Salary: $15 Hour

As a DSP you will help the individual plan for community activities and engage in these activities with the person such as: swimming, hiking, museum tours, etc. DSP’s work closely with the individual’s team to help the individual reach their fullest potential and personal goals. A DSP will assist with developing and implementing recreation and activity based support programs, guide and assist the individual to meet their goals and needs while increasing independence and communicate frequently and timely with all team members and families.


  • 10-12 hours a week, with potential of fill in work
  • Working in the SE part of town

We are seeking an outgoing, energetic and enthusiastic person to work with individuals and families in our care. Make a difference in peoples lives by providing much needed companionship and supports, in a flexible and rewarding role. Here is what you can expect in this role:

  • Provide personal care to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assist individuals with hygiene care, household cleaning, and meal preparation
  • Plan and carry out a variety of recreational activities to enhance social development
  • Accompany client(s) to supermarket, museums, parks, dances, recreation centers, etc.
  • Provide transportation to individuals as needed
  • Assist with medical care, including appointments and administering medications
  • Provide documentation of progress notes and medical records
  • May provide training on life learning skills

To be successful, candidates . . .

. . . should be active and enjoy participating in a variety of community events and activities

. . . should have Basic computer skills

. . . will pass a complete background check

. . . have a reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and valid driver’s license

. . . should be at least 18 years old and have proof of High School Diploma or GED

. . . have some understanding of working with adults with intellectual disabilities
