Qualifications

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge: 1 year (Preferred)
• US work authorization 

Semi Trailer Technician

Total Trailer is a full service semi-trailer dealership including sales, rental and leasing, service and parts departments. Our service department is accepting applications for experienced semi trailer mechanics with the knowledge and drive to help take our Dealership to the next level in customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review each repair order, work order, and estimator’s notes to understand repairs needed prior to beginning work on the vehicle.
• All repairs must be completed according to the documentation on the repair order or the supplement.
• Maintain a neat and orderly working area, and proper handling of company tools.
• Advise the Service Advisor if additional repair work is necessary.
• Repair all systems on Semi-Trailers to meet the minimum standards set forth by DOT
• Remove and replace brakes, brake drums, hubs, seals, bearings, races and associated parts
• Repair electrical and lighting systems
• Repair or replace chassis components such as springs, spring hangers, equalizers, complete slider assemblies, axles, and sub frames
• Repair mud flap brackets and dolly leg assembles
• Repair or replace flooring, rub rails, doors and door trim
• Repairs to roofs, panels, nose panels, lower and upper rails
• Welding
• Ability to perform similar repairs on various types and brands of the same components (adaptability).

Applicants must have the following:

• Pneumatic power tools (1/2 & 3/8 impact wrenches, 3/8 drill, air saw, etc.)
• Assorted hand tools (ratchets, wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, measuring tape, etc.)
• Electrical hand tools (pliers, soldering torch, test light, etc.)
• Welding helmet and gloves
• Assorted hammers/pry bars
• Clean driving record (Preferred)
• Valid drivers license (Preferred)
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds
