Job Description

Commercial Solar Energy, the Commercial Division for Sunworks, Inc., is seeking to hire experienced, full time Project Managers. This role is based out of our Roseville, California office, but will work remotely and will be responsible for extensive solar project management for our Public Works solar projects throughout Northern California. The PM will work closely with our Safety Manager, project Superintendents and Foreman on solar construction projects to ensure work is completed timely and according to specifications and standards of the project. May also lead and direct an Assistant Project Manager and will work closely with sales and design support team members. team members for the region

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Manage and work closely with Superintendents and Foremen to ensure accurate and timely completion of one or more projects simultaneously, including monitoring daily field reports and providing as needed data to leadership and finance upon request
  • Assists with development of new projects by closely and collaboratively coordinating with Sales and design team members
  • Ensures compliance with safety training for all project personnel
  • Develops and encourages an ongoing atmosphere of teamwork
  • Works collaboratively with office team members, outside vendors, and subcontractors to ensure that all perform according to the specifications and requirements for each project
  • Ensures compliance with established project budgets and time constraints, maintaining accurate project cost records including preparing and updating project schedules and cost reports while always ensuring everyone is aware of status, changes, etc.
  • Estimate and prepare change orders and notifications to bills based on project progress and/or percent of completion
  • Follows purchase orders within company guidelines including approving invoices based on delivery tickets
  • Conducts weekly project management meetings
  • Visits all project sites for visual updates on finished work and prepares accurate notes of site meetings
  • Ensures correspondence with clients and team members is detailed, accurate, and timely
  • Hosts fire, electrical and other as needed inspections
  • Willingly takes on additional assignments as requested

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4-years recent experience in solar construction project management; AA Degree or higher, project management certification, or equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience to validate ability to successfully perform the job
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Ability to effectively coordinate crew members and other in-house personnel on several projects of varying size and complexity simultaneously
  • Ability to travel as needed in order to appropriately manage projects
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
  • Demonstrates highly-ethical behavior and good judgment at all times, including the ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally respond to stressful situations in a patient, calm, friendly, and timely manner
  • Leads by example always portraying the Company in a highly-professional manner both within and outside of the office
  • Respectfully accepts coaching and guidance provided constructively in order to continually improve, grow, absorb, and adapt
  • Understands office gossip is frowned upon by leadership and refrains in participating in such
  • PC Proficient with good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including: Word, Excel, and Outlook, database creation and report generation
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to successfully pass an in-depth background investigation and pre-employment drug screen
  • Valid California Driver’s License and proof if insurance is required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in a solar or construction company
  • Understanding of or ability to learn electrical construction

Compensation / Benefits:

  • Full time position with a competitive salary depending on experience.
  • Eligible to participate in company benefit program on the first of the month following 60-days of employment as long as a 30-hr work week is maintained
  • Eligible to participate in our 401(k) program with company match on the first of the month following 60-days of employment and must be at least 21-years of age.
