Job Description

Job Title - Program Management - PMO Implementation

Duration - 6-12 mths contract

Location - Newark NJ

 

PMO Information Technology Implementation Lead

This is a 6-12-month assignment to implement a Program Management Office. This includes defining and documenting all policies and processes of project lifecycles. This individual will need to achieve cooperation, compliance and engagement in the value of a PMO function in an environment of conflicting interests and opinions. Identify new and innovative project management approaches and tools and embed these in the behavior and day to day activities of the organization’s operations

Responsibilities:

  • Define the PMO strategy and lead the design and implementation of a common project management methodology, standards and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects
  • Lead the execution of a PMO governance, reporting and review framework to provide a holistic view of all project activity
  • Provide function for managing documentation, project history and organizational knowledge
  • Making it easy for project teams to do their jobs by reducing bureaucracy, provide training, mentoring and quality assurance

Requirements:

  • Experience in the implementation of PMO’s
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in IT project management leadership roles
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in efficient Change Management methods
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Solid training and coaching skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related study and/or equivalent work experience
