The position consists of coordinating and dispatching all delivery and service fleet vehicles for pick-ups, deliveries, exchanges, and service calls to ensure all delivery times are met. The position requires clear, concise, and professional communication with drivers and customers. Additional responsibilities include setting schedules for all drivers, organizing loads, scheduling service for all delivery and service vehicles, and balancing inventory when servicing two or more metro stores.
Required Skills and Experience
- Prior dispatching experience preferred
- Knowledge of equipment rental operations a plus
Proficient computer skills – MS Office; AS400 a plus
Familiarity with city area layout and ability to utilize navigational tools
Valid driver’s license required
Excellent verbal and written English communication abilities
- Effectively coordinate and prioritize all deliveries, exchanges, pick-ups and service calls
- Perform general clerical tasks
- Set daily schedules for drivers
- Able to work a rotating on-call weekend schedule
