GENERAL SUMMARY: The Setup Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the Banquet Setup department. This role will oversee the set up of all events on Sun Valley property. The goal is to provide 100% guest satisfaction with banquet events.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of banquets and catering setup according to established policies and procedures.
  • Oversee and assist with setting up and breaking down all events following planning worksheets, timelines, and checklists.
  • Oversee all aspects of event setup as required, including but not limited to customer service, linens, table settings & chairs, and ensure proper inventory of supplies as necessary.
  • Takes the initiative and problem-solves to devise solutions for any concerns during the event setup.
  • Manage open lines of communication between management, departments, and team members regarding any setup concerns on an event.
  • Complete checklists and shift reports at the close of every shift.
  • Oversee and assist with the final walkthrough before the event start.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas as organized and in excellent condition
  • Conduct bi-annual inventory on all setup equipment.
  • Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and manage the setup team.
  • Lead team meetings before setting up and delegating tasks.
  • Follow all safety & training procedures and guidelines to ensure safety for self & others.
  • Participate in weekly catering meetings to discuss prior & upcoming events.
  • Ensure sanitation procedures and organization of work area adhere to all health code regulations and standards.

  • Able to build a diagram based on the information given by the banquet event order
  • Able to lead and supervise others in a positive and supportive manner

  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely and effective manner, attention to detail
  • Ability to remain calm, problem-solve and come up with solutions under stress

WORKING CONDITIONS: Sun Valley event space is indoors and outdoors, with potentially changing weather conditions. As a result, you may be required to lift up to 75 lbs.

HOURS: Full-time, must be willing to work Saturdays and most Sundays during summer season.

  • At least two years of previous hospitality experience in a similar or related field
  • At least two years of previous leadership/management experience in a similar or related field
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Excellent customer services skills

  • Working knowledge of Micros & Kronos
  • Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting
