The Graphic Designer full-time position supports the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Cyber Security and Critical Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), Office of Bombing Prevention (OBP). The Graphic Designer will contribute to the graphic/video design, development and delivery of bombing prevention training courses and counter IED awareness products to support DHS's mission to build nationwide counter-improvised explosive device (IED) core capabilities and enhance awareness of terrorist threats for risk reduction to the nation's critical infrastructure. This position is managed and supervised by the SummitET Program Manager (PM).
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develops and delivers quality section 508 ADA compliant graphic and video services for multi-media delivery.
- Ensure graphic and video services are performed meeting PM objectives and timelines.
- Ensure the delivery of quality products and services through continual improvement planning.
- Ensure client desired outcomes of Team Summit delivered products and services are achieved.
- Organize and coordinate the planning and production of all graphic/video support activities in concert with deliverable timelines and PM direction.
- Analyzes and anticipates user needs to create, develop, and deliver graphics/videos.
- Minimum of three (3) years of graphic design or related experience of print, digital, video, and audio media
- Minimum of three (3) years Illustrating graphic/video design, development, and maintenance
- Experience in developing training modules and outreach products for U.S. government agencies a plus
- Experience and professional level of skills developing graphics and video productions for lay and expert training audiences
- Knowledgeable of computer aided design capabilities.
- Experience in how to effectively communicate concepts, approaches, experience, advantages, etc. with graphics
- Knowledge and experience in the use of image quality and content accuracy for communicating
- Possesses a professional level of fluency and skill using industry standard software with demonstrated ability to produce complex, synchronized animations including:
- Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign), Photoshop, Quark, Captivate, and Illustrator
- Skilled with, WordPress, HTML, CSS, PHP and JavaScript
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Possess a professional level of fluency in graphic/video design for virtual training courses using platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom
- Experience in working as a team with flexibility to adjust to different demands
- Able to understand, analyze, and process complex technical information and materials; then create a graphical depiction that is easily understood
- Applicants must demonstrate knowledge/understanding in the following areas:
- PPD-8, National Preparedness, whole community planning Frameworks, and Federal Interagency Operational Plans; Incident Command System
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and technical writing using the English language with audiences of various experience levels
- Must be willing and able to travel domestically via aircraft and automobile, including travel to DC and/or Huntsville, AL a minimum of 4 times per year
- Perform full-time work hours on weekdays, in the best interest of the client
- Must be able to qualify for, receive, and maintain a U.S. top-secret national security clearance
- Possess a valid driver's license and U.S. passport
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience. A degree in Graphic Design/Fine Arts, or related field a plus
