Skilled Laborer Job Description

We are searching for a dependable skilled laborer to join a growing, hardworking construction crew.  We are looking for workers with skills in installing different types of flooring, drywall, fixtures, and concrete.

The skilled laborer's responsibilities include ensuring worksites are clean and safe, using drills, jackhammers, and other power tools in a home renovation or build out setting, may provide assistance with heavy machinery usage.  You should also be able to take instruction from superiors and complete some on-the-job training.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Moving materials to the worksite and ensuring all tools, machinery, and other equipment are safely set up

• Operating equipment like drills, pneumatic hammers, shovels, pikes, and other heavy machinery

• May perform demolition work, breaking down old structures

• Installs cabinetry, flooring, and other household fixtures

• May assist with various electrical and plumbing installation procedures.

• Adhere health and safety codes, as well as the company's principles.

• Removing hazardous materials from sites

• Performing site and equipment inspections

• Completing on-the-job training

• Ensuring tasks are completed to deadlines

Skills and Requirements

• High school diploma or similar or vocational training

• Completed apprenticeships recommended

• Need valid driver license

• Sound knowledge of construction and practical experience with tools

• Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills

• A solid understanding of safety procedures

• Great hand, eye, and foot coordination

• Willingness to learn and be flexible

• Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills
