Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Location: Rialto, CA

Shift: 1st shift- Mon-Fri 6am- 2:30pm. Often works 10 hours, often up to 10 on Saturdays - May start as early as 4a.m.

Pay: $20- $25 with under 5 years of experience, Could be more if Candidate has supervisory/leadership experience

Requires union membership, drug screen and basic physical

General Position Summary:

The maintenance mechanic ensures that all equipment is functioning at optimum so there is no production downtime by performing preventative maintenance and repairs. May also fabricate metal components.

Essential Functions:

• Performs preventative maintenance in accordance with established procedures.
• Monitors, identifies and responds promptly to machinery malfunctions.
• Performs repairs on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic machinery.
• Removes, modifies, and replaces machine components.
• Troubleshoots machinery breakdowns and implements corrective action.
• Orders machine parts and removes, modifies, and replaces parts.
• Installs, assembles and tests new machines.
• Performs welding (includes ARC & MIG).
• Performs torch cutting.
• Operates machines.
• Works with and may train new maintenance mechanics.

• May also fabricate metal components.
• Mechanical aptitude and some maintenance mechanic experience required, at least 2 years preferred

• Performs all work in a safe manner following company policies and OSHA regulations

• Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Working knowledge in general machine operations
• Familiarity with welding, pipe fittings, sheet metal fabrication, hydraulics and pneumatics, preferred
• Ability to operate machinery and build knowledge of machine functionality
• Ability expressing ideas frequently to employees and vendors
• Ability to listen and follow instructions
• Able to work with other maintenance team-members to complete daily action items

Physical Requirements:

• Standing - required to remain on feet for extended periods of time without being able to leave work area (frequent).
• Pulling/Pushing - requires exerting force on a regular basis so that the object is moved to or away from the employer (constant).
• Lifting - required at time to raise or lower objects from one level to another with a weight of 30-50 pounds using proper lifting techniques (constant).
• Carrying - required on a regular basis to carry objects in arms or on shoulders.
• Stooping and Crouching - regularly required to bend forward by bending at the waist and by bending legs and spine (frequent).
• Grasping - regularly required to pick up objects with fingers (constant).
• Reaching - required to use the hands and arms to reach for objects (constant).
• Ability to cross bridges over moving conveyors.
• Speaking - requires expressing ideas (frequent).
• Listening - required to have the ability to hear (frequent).

Work Environment

• • Noise - exposed to loud noise inside the plant and required to wear earplugs in the plant at all times.
  • Heat - exposed to high temperatures during summer months.
  • Cold exposure - Exposed to low temperatures during winter months.
  • Mechanical - exposed to mechanical hazards.
  • Work adjacent to moving conveyors.
