Stratacomm seeks a well-rounded, self-motivated, organized assistant account executive (AAE) to join its dynamic team. The AAE will grow personally and professionally through exposure to varying clients and the inner workings of a full-service communications agency. This opportunity is for candidates with a degree in a communications-related field with at least six months of experience. The position is remote and we seek candidates who live within the DC or Detroit metro areas. This opportunity is a full-time (40 hrs/week) position and will require travel. .

  • Conduct research and develop project-specific summaries for clients, agency marketing and new business.
  • Draft written materials across multiple mediums, including emails, agendas, social media posts, web copy, press releases, media advisories, briefing materials, activity reports and new business documents.
  • Participate in account or agency idea-gathering sessions, project kick-off meetings and contribute new ideas.
  • Attend meetings and complete / deliver accurate meeting summaries with clear actions.
  • Monitor traditional news media and social media, providing daily, weekly and/or monthly reports, as appropriate.
  • Compile measurement and KPI tracking reports for integrated campaigns, as appropriate.
  • Build outreach lists, research reporters, influencers or other stakeholders, update contact databases, draft outreach materials, including but not limited to media or influencer pitches, and conduct outreach, as appropriate.
  • Assist with event, conference and trade show planning, which may include identifying speaking opportunities, supporting presentation development, managing venue/vendor and travel logistics and event registration, supporting materials development, providing on-site staffing, and developing wrap-up reports.
  • Work with Client Relationship Managers (CRMs) to create, track, schedule and monitor timelines for multiple client projects.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field.
  • Minimum of six months of demonstrated experience in communications, media relations, public affairs and/or journalism (can include internships).
  • Excellent oral, writing and editing skills with demonstrated proficiency in spelling, grammar and knowledge of AP Style writing.
  • Ability to travel
  • Strong research skills and demonstrated resourcefulness.
  • Works well in a team.
  • Highly organized, ability to prioritize work assignments, strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and the ability to learn new digital tools quickly.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt/respond to requests as they arise.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office packages including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Expanded knowledge and experience with other Microsoft Office applications including Outlook and Teams is a plus.
