Job Description

Director, Brand Events & Communications Responsibilities:

  • Create overarching, best-in-class, innovative communications and events strategies for various initiatives for SCL, including collections, collabs, special events, store renovations, digital initiatives, holiday season and more
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create and execute a collective, innovative year-long strategy, outlining clear goals and KPIs to increase brand visibility and enhance brand reputation.
  • Manage calendar, ideation and execution of all branded events to ensure the Founders' vision tlife
  • Manage influencer strategy and outreach to establish partnerships that broaden the perception of SCL and expand reach.
  • Work directly with influencers to build and maintain relationships and to create content based on overall brand objectives; drive sales via affiliate links and promo codes as relevant
  • Ability to creatively execute mailings, including creating recipient lists, sourcing synergistic gifts, communicating next steps to team and managing budget
  • Oversee and develop structure and protocol for seasonal gifting, product seeding, influencer store visits
  • Drive, track and report on influencer and celebrity social and editorial coverage
  • Measure ROI and impressions across initiatives in order to gauge success and inform future initiatives
  • Continuously identify new programs/initiatives/events to drive the brand vision, looking for first-move opportunities to leverage
  • Work to increase press impressions and ensure that press coverage reflects accurate message pull through and brand POV as we tell our brand story.
  • Support on all aspects of brand visibility, including but not limited to: product placement, collaborations, campaigns, presentations, all events, press releases and media alerts, celebrity placements and partnerships.
  • In partnership with the VP of Marketing, drive Founder communications strategy to create visibility around founders and elevate the brand’s perception and reputation - both within the industry and through the eyes of our customer.
  • Manage execution of year-long and seasonal PR/media relations strategies to continue to build credibility for the Stoney Clover Lane brand and drive the brand forward.
  • Create press releases and media alerts, pitch and secure media, review media lists and invite lists, as needed
  • Leverage relationships with key members of the media—women’s fashion, retail, lifestyle, etc.—including print, broadcast and digital to secure coverage on various initiatives, as needed
  • Prep documents in accordance with interview-specific needs (Q&A, on-camera, etc) for all press opportunities.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 8-10+ years of Event & PR experience at an accessories or beauty company and/or an agency
  • Strong knowledge and interest of the fashion, lifestyle, beauty and consumer press, traditional media and digital/influencers
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Google Analytics)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present thoughts clearly, accurately, and succinctly
  • Meticulous attention to detail, resourceful, organized with an analytical skillset and a can-do attitude

  • Strong ability to develop and build cooperative working relationships and collaborate with all levels in the organization
