Job Description

StingRay Manufacturing is looking for a qualified Manufacturing Manager, this role will be responsible for managing manufacturing operations and employees for a designated product. This position develops, executes and evaluates results of the production plans to meet manufacturing goal, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

  • Control manpower and materials needed to complete jobs accurately, on time, and within budget in a quality manner
  • Assures all production output meets quality standards. Follows Quality processes, develops process work instructions, completes reject reports and corrective action reports
  • Continuously evaluate and improve Manufacturing processes
  • Oversee the work of Manufacturing employees
  • Track absenteeism, maintain and approve timekeeping records, follows company guidelines for discipline of offenders, works to reduce lost time from absenteeism and tardiness.
  • Ensure effective employee relations by providing employee mentoring and development. Resolves employee issues through coaching and problem resolution
  • Develops training programs to develop the employees’ work skills to improve throughput and reduce scrap/rework. Assures employees are trained for the tasks assigned.
  • Evaluate and update the performance of team members against their job requirements and performance goals within the time frame designated for their position level. Prepares annual employee review and goals.
  • Ensure employees’ personal safety by providing safety training for all aspects of the job. Ensures work environment is safe, conforms to OSHA regulations and alerts management to safety issues. Enforces required safety gear use and safety operating procedures
  • Maintains OSHA records for Lock out tag out, right to know and chemical storage and disposal records.
  • Lead activities to perform accident investigations, safety observations, and hazard mapping
  • Coordinate plans with Production Materials Coordinator to maintain proper inventory levels for optimum productivity
  • Coordinate projects with supervisors, material coordinator and other departments
  • Work with Engineering to assist with cost estimating, providing input for custom fabrications, design changes on catalog product and drawing improvements
  • Assist with job costing and labor tracking. Perform time studies.
  • Monitor production schedules and results and inform management and peers regarding production delays and other related issues. Expedite jobs behind schedule.
  • Experience leading a team of at least 25-35 people
  • Intermediate computer skills including experience using the MS Office suite, ERP and CAD experience
  • Welding (MIG, Pulse & TIG), machining, metal forming and general metal fabrication experience
  • Blueprint reading, inspection/ quality control, forklift and overhead crane experience

Job Specifications (Includes Education/Certifications/Licenses, etc.)

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Business / Management Degree or 5+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.

Work Environment:

  • Majority of workday production floor environment with seasonal high and low temperatures and moderate to high noise level.
  • Partial day in an office environment with moderate temperature, good lighting, and low to moderate noise level, as applicable.

Schedule:

  • Work Hours (8 am – 6 pm)
  • Typically, 8 – 10 hours per day
  • Monday – Friday
  • Weekends and Overtime as needed
