Sterling PLM, a consulting service offered by Sterling Medical Devices, helps clients document their projects and services more efficiently through the customization and support of Polarion software. Polarion can be leveraged across industries for validation services, mitigating risks, and quality system development.

The Opportunity:

We are currently searching for a PLM Sales Associate to join our team. This is an entry-level sales position responsible for acquiring new client prospects, retaining and growing our existing client base, coordinate and execute sales activity and perform administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for being part of a team and delivering results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop new and existing account opportunities through prospecting activities including cold calling, targeted mailings, and client referrals
  • Answer inbound sales calls and perform high-level qualification of prospects
  • Monitor leads to ensure they are current and that all follow up activities are addressed in a timely manner
  • Support sales calls by taking notes, capturing pertinent information and requirements, and follow up as necessary
  • Schedule sales calls and ensure necessary documentation is executed ahead of time
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, change orders and other sales documentation during the sales cycle
  • Generate reports and metrics on sales process effectiveness
  • Prepare and coordinate trade show opportunities
  • Generating written content as necessary including case studies, presentations, and emails
  • Report regularly on progress throughout the sales cycle to supervisors
  • Interface with Marketing Department as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematical, or other applicable technical focus
  • 0-3 years' experience in technical sales
  • Experience and comfort working in a flat and highly collaborative culture that requires initiative and accountability
  • Experience working with an enterprise-level CRM, preferably Salesforce
  • Experience working with an enterprise-level mass-email tool
  • Knowledge of product development process and standards is a plus
  • Knowledge of FDA/CE approval process is a plus

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, with proficiency in navigating multiple computer programs and CRM while conversing with the prospect or client
  • Ability to intelligently discuss hardware, software, firmware, and mechanical development processes
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to prioritize a workload with multiple tasks and multiple demands and meet due dates
  • Ability to analyze and resolve issues at both a strategic and functional level
  • Ability to articulately and effectively present complex information clearly and respond to questions
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and time tracking skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others
  • Ability to adapt to and work well in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
