Sterling Engineering, Inc assisting the Premier Client in the search of the Quality Specialist. This is a Direct Hire position located in Elgin, IL.
This is a perfect position for a Recent Graduate with Bachelors Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Quality Engineering!
Perfect candidate MUST have knowledge in reading blue prints.
Duties: The individual who functions in this position must carry out all of the functions associated with being a Quality Specialist. The primary responsibility of the individual in this position is to ensure that proper procedures are followed consistently and effectively adhere to strict quality standards relative to both the company and the customer. The individual will have responsibility in receiving, in process inspections, final inspections, assisting in maintaining the calibration system, and performing the initial process steps for non-conforming material. To qualify as a Quality Specialist an individual must be able to perform all of the following:
Assist in tracking and recording all quality control measurements as required by process description or customer requests .
Assist in reporting all quality trends and problems.
Monitor and survey the quality of incoming purchased materials and recommend quality improvements.
Monitor in process work for quality.
Monitor final product for quality issues.
Assist in maintenance of Quality Manual and process documents.
Perform all other duties and assignments as required including those when reassigned or transferred and regardless of whether duties are related to his/her normal duties.
Minimum high school diploma with post secondary education in relevant field or equivalent work experience. Associate degree is a plus.
Requires ability to use a personal computer, various measuring devices, and the ability to read, understand, and interpret blue prints.
Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills. Problem solving skills evidenced by demonstrated results in past positions.
Knowledge of various quality control procedures and practices including statistical process control.
Experience working in an industrial work environment. Minimum of one year experience in related quality control position or shop floor experience. Metals industry experience a plus.
Position requires individual to work with minimal supervision. Ability to lift 60 lbs. standing for extended periods of time. Stooping, bending, stretching, and walking as necessary to monitor production processes.
Requires high degree of attention to detail.
