Title: Solution Architect, Cisco

Reports To: Director of STG

Position Summary: Sterling's Strategic Technology Group (STG) team is looking to bring a dynamic team member into the organization to help grow the team supporting our Cisco OEM strategic partnership. This is an early-stage opportunity to get in "on the ground floor" to help our clients identify and prioritize emerging technologies that can help achieve their IT modernization journey. This key role will collaborate closely with STG solution architects, be the liaison between Sterling Sales, Pre-Sales, Marketing and Sterling partners to help promote, develop and drive strategic solutions. The objective for this role is to help our clients design approaches to integrate new technologies, skills, and processes, so they can get the most out of their technology investment and drive positive business results and innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Provide thought leadership and proactively raise awareness across all business segments of Cisco and competing vendor technologies, features, and capabilities that can be used to drive business benefit.
  • Educate Sterling's Sales & Pre-Sales teams, partners, and other business units to help them become familiar with Cisco concepts, solutions, and the features that can be adopted to enhance their clients' business.
  • Drive thought leadership, knowledge sharing, and collaboration between Sales and Marketing teams.
  • Promote guidance on best practices for designing, building, and managing complex solutions.
  • Work with sales teams to promote the adoption of Cisco platforms that will drive efficiencies and positive business outcomes.
  • Promote established and future Solution Center toolsets that demonstrate Sterling's capabilities and approach to ensure uniformity, supportability, and governance.
  • Present designs to clients and vendor partners that demonstrate Sterling's capabilities around Cisco solutions how they are built around best practices.
  • Work closely with STG teams (Cyber Security, Managed Services, Solution Pursuit Team) and Marketing teams to assist in shaping offerings that will improve the way clients make use of Cisco platforms.
  • Create a collaborative environment where people and technology thrive together to accomplish more than they could apart.
  • Present periodic updates to business stakeholders, leaders, executives, and senior management.
  • Deploy solutions within customer environments and provide tier 3 level support when necessary.


Required Skills & Experience
  • Fundamental and overall understanding of modern Cisco solution platforms, primarily in the areas of networking, datacenter, collaboration, Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity and SaaS solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure, datacenter, networking, security best practices, and automation technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying highly scalable solutions within commercial enterprise or federal agencies.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience supporting sales initiatives, business development activities, providing thought leadership in the areas of complex networking and data centers.
  • Ability to present to all levels of leadership and technology teams.
  • Ability to influence and facilitate the creation of long-term client relationships, which add value to clients and Sterling.
  • Ability to lead continuous development, tracking, and prioritization of STG team's sales goals and strategies.


Experience & Certifications
  • At least one "Professional" level Cisco Certification such as: CCNP, CyberOps or DevNet is required.
  • CCIE preferred but not required.
  • Preferred experience with other OEM solutions desirable such as: Palo Alto, Juniper, F5, Fortinet

        • AMP
        • Umbrella
        • VPN
        • SecureX
      • Can be either CCNP or CCIE
      • Prior hands-on experience. i.e., Previously worked as an Admin.

      • CCNP or CCIE
