Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a SQL Database Administrator to join our growing biopharmaceutical company. Reporting into the Director, Information Technology, this position is responsible for managing databases and integrations using Microsoft SQL Server as the core platform. This will include database support, management and evaluation, ETL processes, data warehousing tasks and other data related tasks. Candidate must display an eagerness to learn and take on additional tasks outside of the SQL DBA function.

Additional responsibilities of the SQL DBA role include:

Monitor and optimize the performance, security, backup, restore and integrity of database management systems
Manage and maintain SQL Data Warehouse development, test & production environments
Provide architectural advice to development team
Support the design, development, and implementation of dimensional reporting databases
Perform quality checks on interfaces, reports and exports to ensure exceptional quality
Monitor job and transfer queues to ensure they are functioning as expected
Create and maintain documentation for all projects

Technical skills and experience required of the SQL DBA role include:
3 to 5 years of experience and extensive, hands-on knowledge of Data Warehouse principles using Microsoft SQL Server platform

Extensive knowledge of database development, administration, and performance tuning

Responsible for SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) & Data Warehouse Integration/ETL Processes
TOAD and T-SQL (Transact SQL) Stored Procedures and Triggers

Well experienced developing and managing cubed databases as well as strong understanding of OLAP tools
Solid knowledge of good promotion process and maintaining development lifecycle throughout implementation process
Working knowledge of network communications, Multi-tiered Architecture, .Net applications, SharePoint Services & Microsoft PowerBI
Familiarity with the integration of multiple source data elements to include ODB, X.12, iDOC, SFDC, XML, etc.

Working knowledge of SQL management tools strongly preferred

Qualified candidates of this role must offer a Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, engineering or a related field. MCDBA is preferred. You must offer excellent communication, technical and project management skills.
