Job Description

Position Summary

The Asset Manager is responsible for the effective day to day management of investor assigned assets. Asset Managers develop, implement, administer, and track investor approved asset resolution strategies regarding all asset under their responsibility. Asset Managers further provide reporting and present asset management activity to the investment committee on a bi-monthly basis

Primary Accountabilities

  • Cradle to Grave Asset Management of all assets within assigned portfolios.
  • Establish and obtain approval on initial Asset Plan and provide input for revisions to previously approved Asset Plans
  • Perform Management and Oversite to third-party servicers as applicable.
  • Pursue borrower engagement and establish, maintain direct borrower contact.
  • Monitor execution of asset plans as approved by the investment committee.
  • Directly work customized “hit lists” as prepared and distributed by Asset Management as assigned to be:
    • Utilized to prioritize those assets that require direct borrower contact efforts to facilitate the development of both borrower (repayment and forbearance plans and loan modifications) and collateral based (Short Payoff, Settlement and Deed in Lieu) loss mitigation remedies as applicable.
    • Focus on those assets that have deteriorated in performance.
  • Work in tandem with Foreclosure / Bankruptcy Timeline Management to:
    • Ensure that the foreclosure process is progressing as quickly as possible in compliance with state specific foreclosure guidelines and standards.
    • Ensure that borrower(s) in bankruptcy are performing in accordance with approved bankruptcy plans. Further pursue relief from stay (IN REM as appropriate) in order that foreclosure and/or a loss mitigation remedy can be pursued timely.
  • Handles any special projects as assigned by Asset Management.
  • Utilizes Servicing Director and other applicable Default Management Systems as appropriate to perform all job functions inclusive of but not limited to:
    • All analysis and modeling
    • Documentation of all communications
    • Development of recommendations via Asset Plans
    • Exception Management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills along with effective negotiation and problem solving skills.
  • All Asset Management outreach efforts to be performed in full compliance with FDCPA and other applicable regulatory standards.

Experience Desired

  • 5 years in a Mortgage Debt Collection Environment on a National Level with a strong focus on Asset Management and Loss Mitigation
  • Graduation from a 4-year college or university with course work associated with the requirements of the position preferred

Location Requirements and Days / Hours of Operation

  • Position will be based in Shelton, CT.
  • Monday through Friday – specifically as designated by Collections Management
    • Three (3) Days from 9am to 6pm
    • Two (2) Days from 11am to 8pm
    • Last Saturday of each month for a period of 4 hours (either 8am to 12pm or 12pm to 4pm)
    • Flexibility to accommodate other days as needed (additional Saturdays, Sundays and other times based upon company needs and in compliance with FDCPA Standards)
