Summary Statement The incumbent in this position provides nursing services including, but not limited to: direct care, assessments, nursing care plans and facilitating health care services to the residents/clients. The incumbent will supervise and evaluate the care provided to the residents/clients by certified nursing assistants, will have regular contact with individuals, families, nursing staff, physicians, dietary, pharmacy, other ancillary departments of the facility, and administrative staff is required. Develops, implements and/or reviews nursing care plans. Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups and/or nursing home facilities in the management of their health care needs. Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team.
Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms. Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities. Job Requirement Series JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse I Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license, Delaware temporary license or multi-state compact license.
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse II Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing OR at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license. JOB REQUIREMENTS for Registered Nurse III Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: At least two years experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse OR a Masters degree or higher in Nursing.
Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license. Additional Posting Information This posting may be closed on or before 09/30/20 upon filling the vacant position(s). Criminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire. This position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization).
The candidate selected for this position shall be asked to join and pay dues to the labor organization or may, decline joining the labor organization and not pay dues or a fee. The labor organization has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other work related purposes. Upon a conditional offer, the applicant must undergo a pre-employment base line two step tuberculin skin test (TST) as part of the hiring process.
Bonus ***The program provides incentives as follows: Recruitment incentives are based on the position classification as follows: $6,000 for Advanced Practice Nurses, $5,000 for Nurse Consultants, $5,000 for Nursing Supervisors, $4,500 for Compliance Nurses, $3,500 for Registered Nurses, $2,000 for Licensed Practical Nurses, and $1,500 for Certified Nursing Assistants. Recruitment incentives will be paid in quarterly installments over the first year of hire and will begin after the first quarter of employment. New employees accepting this recruitment bonus must commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS.
Referral bonuses of $1,000 are available to current DHSS employees who refer new hires in the following classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant.
