This position is located in the Registration & Fulfillment Unit of the Office of Vital Records (OVR) within the Health Policy (HP) Division.
This position assures that activities associated with the collection, filing, registering, certification, and issuance of vital records are accomplished.
- Providing information and service to vital records partners and the public
- Processing requests and payments for documents and services including copies of vital records certificates; for corrections and amendments to vital records; and for replacements to vital records related to parentage establishment and documents
- Registering putative fathers in the Minnesota Father's Adoption Registry, searching the registry and issuing certifications of searches
Experience using word processing and spreadsheet software sufficient to create, modify documents and proofread documents/correspondence with extremely high detail, correct spelling, grammar and accuracy
Experience using customer service and communication skills sufficient to provide courteous, effective, and timely service and to explain policies and/or processes to internal and external customers
Experience using databases sufficient to carry out advanced administrative tasks and compile accurate information. Ability to schedule and organize trainings, meetings, spaces and training evaluations
Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy
Experience and knowledge of the Minnesota Vital Records System.
Knowledge of the web-based vital records application MR&C.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Skills and experience in Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of and respect for the law, policies, and procedures that guide the work of the Minnesota Vital Records System.
Ability to speak other languages in addition to English.
This position requires the successful completion of a background check.
